Reflections of My Life

I wonder why people feel the need to warn me to be careful about whatever I said I was going to do? Like I am a child. Used to be people would ask me how to do things. Now I am must be past the age bracket of having any brains left. It really does irritate me because I have done a lot of things in my life that most people had no idea how to do. I need instructions on walking outside in the snow? I lived here most of my life. And I am using a walker.

Sorry you guys. It was not on here. It just sticks with me if you know what I mean.
 

I have a brand new pair of flannel pajamas. I love them! BUT.........they are a light green plaid and the green color comes off on my hands! I washed them before I wore them. I can't soak them in the washing machine but I can wash them in hot water and do it twice. Would that work? They are really cozy warm and I got them for the cold winter. But I do not want to turn green. :(

Where did you get them from? I never heard of clothes bleeding on a persons skin.
 
Jeff stopped in this morning and took my garbage out for me. So I did not have to go out in the cold. Instead I spent a couple of hours in the laundry room and did some laundry. Two loads. Maybe Wednesday, I will do the rest of it. I know better than to do it two days in a row.

Sonny had that heart procedure today where they reset his heart. Had to do it again because of the new pacemaker. His daughter said they did it in 2 minutes. It took longer for him to wake up then for the procedure. He called when he was awake and was should be home by now. Probably sleeping.
 
I am waiting for my grocery delivery which should be here between 11 and 1. I will have to go outside for it. More than half of it is for Jeff. That's okay, I figured it out before ordering. Need to keep his money separate from mine.

I am going to make a chicken stock broth and going to try drinking that in the morning instead of coffee. I will see how I do. At least for a few weeks.

I ordered two sample packs of herbal teas. One from Walmart that will be in the grocery delivery (if they have it). The other is a bigger one different brand from Amazon. I like herbal teas but don't think to buy them when I am ordering or in the store. The sample packs will give me the opportunity to test different flavors. They seem to have more of these available at Christmas time. Good gifts.

I remember this happening, years ago. Not sure if this would work but there is a way to wash them that will prevent them from bleeding onto other clothes (is it with vinegar??). Maybe that would "set" the dye and stop it from rubbing onto your skin?

Maybe I will add vinegar to the wash water. And wash them by themselves. I really want to wear them.
 
A vinegar & hot water soak is one option. Some recommend a soak with a couple of cups of salt and hot water. Do these soaks in a basin, not the washing machine. There’s no guarantee. Throw a colour catcher in your washing machine, just in case.

Since they’re green, you could wash them with your dark load so nothing else becomes stained.
 
I got up around 4 and it sounded like a hurricane out there. Power flicked a few times but did not go off completely. So I unplugged almost everything and then took a shower. Figured if it did go off I needed to be clean. On my scanner nerd group on FB, a lot of people are saying when they were changed over to the smart meter their power flickers throughout the day. I never noticed it before but I was thinking it was due to the wind this morning. Then it poured and you couldn't even see outside.

I don't have any mail coming today so I don't have to leave my apartment. I am happy about that because the elevator door has been closing super slow. Yesterday I had to push the button to open it on my floor. It stopped here but did not open. I know when it is going to do that because it gives a little beep.

Even when I stay in I try to do a bit of walking in circles around my apartment. I don't want to walk in the hall anymore because some of people who live on my floor (I am sure on other floors as well) keep having bugs. Yes, even roaches lately. I think it is because they are not clean and don't keep their garbage down. I will see stacks of bags on their floors. I am lucky to have that little entrance off the hall to my apartment. I keep that clean and sprinkle peppermint essential oil on the floor there. I don't know how they can stand it.
