Now that I am by myself at Christmas, I have to get my own gifts. At least I get what I want and can use - mainly snack items this year: candied ginger, dates, sesame cookies, apricots, licorice and Greek yogurt almonds.

Kind of the same here. It's okay, I sent cards because I wanted to, just as I know you did, but our old traditions, like everything else, are fading away. People don't want to send cards, talk on the phone, or even reply to texts much anymore.
