not real whoopee today..it starts 3rd week of these miseries, right paw
is still swollen bad and unusable, right shoulder so-so pain. right knee
is starting to bother a bit....jesus what list, what a way to start the week...
feel very down today, but i knnow this to will pass, just got to
get out of HIS WAY!!!!!
I wish your doctors could do more to relieve your pain.....

I'm up. The litter box has been cleaned. I've had my first cup of coffee since Christmas Eve. I've had a shower and gotten dressed. Nope, bed not made...so shoot me ;). In a little while, I'm even gonna wash up a few dishes.

The sun is out, and it's colder than a banker's heart out there. 26F is cold. We might see a high temp of 48 today.

Depending on which AI you choose to believe, spring is either 67 or 69 days away.

Obviously, I'm feeling somewhat better but don't want to use up all my "somewhats" before lunch! BBL

ETA: Oops. Yeah, sure. It's all about me:rolleyes:. Sorry. I've been out of touch for so long that I haven't kept up with much of what's going on. So...@Pepper and @hawkdon, you've both been on my mind, and I hope things are improving for you. And for anybody else having a hard time, being too cold, too warm, too tired, too sick or "too" anything, things are gonna get better, I promise. Three weeks and counting, and I'm getting there. Y'all will, too.
I'm glad to see you up and posting!

On my 2nd cuppa tea this morning. Having a hard time waking up.

Been to the hematologist this AM for f/u visit r/t lab work last week. I have succeeded in keeping my labs associated with iron where they should be since my iron infusion a few months ago. I figured I'd be dismissed from their services. Oh, well, gee... there is one test that was a little high... per staff, I should come back in three-four months to have it checked again.

Uh, *no*, I'll have my PCP check the same labs next year and if there's a continued problem, then we'll talk again. (It wasn't anything life-threatening)

Got various cleaning things to do around the house today and hopefully tackle some more decluttering. @StarSong, I hear you about spices and baking supplies... I cleaned out a cupboard my son and I share that houses baking items and found stuff from like 2022--packets of yeast, etc. (He tends to be a pack rat). And why do we need *three* sets of nesting measuring cups? Are these things procreating while the door is closed?!

Last thing on the agenda today (planned, anyway) is to visit Ed, who will probably be released from rehab soon.

Y'all have a great day!

Two funerals last week took a lot out of me. Each of the departed were "people persons" and the turnouts were impressive. Probably 100 at the first service and a bit more at the second. I will skip that formality when I pass and save a half dozen people the trouble. One left a husband behind and neighbors are joining forces to offer him support and food.

Today I have a vein and vascular appointment to go over a recent ultrasound of my left leg. Tomorrow is my annual physical. Once these are out if the way it should be a good week. Hoping it warms up.

Unfun van stuff today. Really unfun. There's a plumbing leak under the floor causing a soft spot and I have no idea how to get to it. There are schematics available online so I can do it but it's going to involve taking out the fresh water tank (under a bench) and part of the reinforced step into the van.

Planning to take it to a RV place but it'll cost less if I do the labor getting the plumbing in the problem area exposed.

Looking forward to a pleasant week ahead, weather-wise. It's been nearly three weeks since our temps were in the 70s so it'll be especially nice to see them again.

Today will be a this-and-that day. Most of Christmas is cleared away with the rest going bye-bye today and tomorrow. DH & I don't push ourselves on these kinds of chores. Work 2-3 hours, then move onto something else.

Yesterday my something else was organizing the garage pantry somewhat. No, the shelves don't closely resemble an upscale grocery store, but there's visible improvement. I also wrangled all vitamins, supplements and OTC medicines into a couple of clear plastic shoeboxes and moved them to low shelf in our (huge walk-in) bedroom closet. Now I can easily see what we have.

I also coralled my back stock of spices, extracts, baking powder, baking soda, etc. into the base of another plastic shoebox because they have a habit of drifting into the canned goods.

My mother, bless her soul, was a highly organized woman who loved clear plastic containers to house her stuff. When clearing her house I brought some home and have found them quite useful over the years. Despite rarely using them for what she did, I leave her labels intact because seeing her handwriting always brings me a smile. ❤️
Our weather has been too warm for winter. You can have the gnats that were inside the screen door this morning. It's ok...you can keep them. They're my gift to you. ;)
I'm sick to death of them. I still can't get that one out of my new tv!

Thanks but no thanks.

I can't remember the last time I saw a gnat in my area, but can assure you it's been decades. And that's just the way I like it.

This is the land of blessedly low humidity where puddles last less than a day and there are almost zero larger bodies of still water besides chlorinated pools whose filtering systems run daily - summer and winter. Untended "green" pools are quickly cited by the city.

Having left 12 months of precipitation and high humidity behind in my late teens, I have no interest in revisiting it, the flying bugs, or the creepy crawlies that come along with it.

i have a feeling this gnat is a permanent resident. he's dead but i can't get him out of the tv. it's become a funeral home. lol

@Georgiagranny, glad you're feeling well enough to post again.

@Pepper, so good to be hearing from you! Really hoping your news was good today and the IV antibiotics have worked. 🤗

@hawkdon Really good news about your shower (that must have felt nice) and especially your upcoming doc's appointment! :)

Day is going fine for me. Missing husband who is in Florida for a few days, but otherwise all is good. I made some chocolate cupcakes (Duncan Hines) with cream cheese frosting (scratch) yesterday and was planning on making some ground turkey spaghetti today, but totally spaced. I've made myself a note about it for tomorrow.

@MarciKS, maybe you should give the TV gnat a name? 😅

That is indeed really unfun. Wishing you well with this.

Christmas has been fully put to bed with the exception of swapping out dish towels and the approx 20 Christmas coffee mugs. No matter how many times we look around for Christmas decoration stragglers, it's a lock solid guarantee that by mid-February we'll come across a few - happens every year. 🎄

An easy day today. Some spreadsheet work for business, probably a little more pantry organizing, a load of laundry, that kind of thing.

Hope all can make it a good day!

@Pepper I'm delighted the antibiotics did their job and you're being sprung soon!!! ❤️

Yesterday learned IVs worked. No signs of infection. Ready to go home. Not today. Maybe tomorrow. Bureaucracy.
My goal is to accept myself with peace. The new version of myself. Don’t like all this. It’s what is whether I want it or not. Fighting it gets me nowhere.
It's better to let them take care of you than to get upset. You wouldn't be there if you didn't need it. I know it's stressful though. Hope to see you soon after you get home but get rest first. 🤗

Well the doc visit went okay....they did another set of x-trays specific to rigth
shouldr elbow and wrist where it's so swollen,....bottom line they say
my arthuritis is very bad !!!! So they prescribe a methlyprednisone dose pak,
got 6 days of dosage start one pill with breakfast and so on....had

and hollering over damned arthritis!!!!!:):cry::love::devilish::poop:
