It was yesterday. Training and then off to ride the motorcycles. It took me about 1/2 an hour to put all my gear on, including 2 layers of long underware one of which was down filled. I felt like the Michelin Man.
Ran over to Craters of the Moon w temps in the low 40's °F, 10-20 mph wind. Pretty exciting and pretty dismal to be riding on January 15th at 5000' of elevation. Last year's first ride was 2/28.
Saw upwards of 80 swans out in the same plowed field as the other day.
Got over to Craters of the Moon
@Pepper and took a couple pics at an overlook.

Here's the 900 w stock heated grips, big windshield, and aftermarket heated seat.
Made 2 runs up and back down to the entrance some big sweeping turns, a few tight ones, and it's at the extreme end of 2 counties w no homes or ranches for 60 miles or more so it's definitely free of the cops so it's big fun!
Got back to my storage and saw 2 golden eagles feeding on an antelope carcass, they were close but I was unable to get pics unfortunately. Golden eagles are not abundant at all and the are huge.
I was going to go to an intro to avalanches lecture, but was too tired. I am signed up for the field work next weekend though.
