Thank God.. because I was just right at the end of my patience tbh. The 2 bosses came around this morning, and immediately called the handyman , who came an hour later, and within less than 90 minutes he had the washing machine plumbed in and Levelled.. in the utility , the extractor hood up on the wall in my kitchen ... everywhere that needed sealing he did, resealed the sink as well..... ... he even drilled a hole and hung a clock up on the wall for me..

I'm dying to get the laundry done but he said to not get the sink surrounds wet for a couple of hours to let the sealant all dry completely

Looks wonderful! I'm sure you will enjoy having it.

I'm keeping fingers crossed for some action this morning.. and get my washing machine plumbed in.. and the extractor hood installed....
I feel for you with workers in your house. The last big job we had done was our kitchen remodel ten years ago. Six weeks, start to finish, exactly as the contractor estimated. They were wonderfully professional and I remain delighted with the results, but the life disruption of living in a construction zone gets tedious.

Hoping (Glad) your life is back to normal soon (now). (It looks gorgeous!)

(Edited) because you just posted that it's all done.

Good morning everyone. It is 70 degrees and warm this morning but cold weather coming back next Monday.

My husband was weak last night and couldn't walk very well. He seems better this morning. We are going out to the bank and have lunch today.

Stay warm and safe everyone where the weather is turning in a strong way. :)

Best wishes @hollydolly it looks great. :)

Okay, so now a friend of mine has the same high blood pressure I have --even the same top number. Weird coincidence. She has various theories for the cause, but I'm sticking with I don't know nuthin' about nuthin'. Although I did briefly whisper to my cardiologist that ordering from Door Dash may have a little bit to do with it. He didn't choke like he does when I say something unexpected -- usually more colorful phrasing than my totally cool and dignified manner would portend, and I guess he's not used to hearing stuff that isn't hoity toity. I wanted him to choke. He needs to loosen up.

I cleaned off my desk. Don't get excited ... it's now worse than ever. I separated the stuff that didn't belong there by placing it on my desk chair. The rest of the stuff, I just put in a stack or three on the floor. Then I realized all this organization means I can't sit at my desk, so I emptied the chair stuff into a big Aldi bag. I put the stacked stuff on my desk. It should look emptier, but it doesn't.

I have decided that organizing things is not in my wheelhouse. I've been trying all my life, and except for bookcases, it just doesn't work out. Put it this way: If I find something where it belongs, I am always shocked.

My son was searching for his Kindle last night. He said, Oh no, Mom, I'm turning into you! I replied, No, you aren't because I am not a thief. He took my bottle of Hershey's dark chocolate syrup out of the fridge and threw it away!!!!!!!!!! And he took the trash out after, in case I tried to find it. And he doesn't regret it.

My lovely fake son-in-law (married to my stepdaughter) said it was his fault. He instructed my son to keep tabs on what I eat, because the guy is like obsessed with my diet. He says it's because I'm not obsessed enough. Well, we got dx'd with chronic kidney disease at the same time. His is worse than mine. I swanee, no vegetables pass his lips, and he doesn't eat slices of meat, he eats huge hunks! Enough to feed about 4 people! CKD means lower protein diet, low salt, and half the stuff that is good for people is not good for sick kidneys. Plus the syrup was because of my A1C being high -- but not crossing the line into diabetes.

My goal, if we have an ice storm, is to spend it getting all the stuff I should have done some time ago finished. And I am going to figure out an eating plan that takes into full account my heart, kidneys, and blood pressure. It won't be so horrible. It's probably the exact way I've been eating for the last 15 years, except for the last 6 months.

If I get a terminal illness, I'm going to smoke, eat whatever I want to, and drink Jameson and coffee with real sugar in it. I'm going to play my music real loudly -- no ear buds or pods or whatever they are called. I am going to swear with wild abandon. Due the the whiskey, I won't be driving. I am going to be a Very Bad Example and have a great time doing it. I am going to join the Resistance.

Back home now after a couple days skiing. So far since Janurary 6 late start this winter have 7 days this season now.
I seem to have a Grade 1 strain to my right foot plantar calcaneonavicular ligament, also known as the spring ligament that occurred last week and I then re-aggravated a bit Tuesday. Was still able to ski fine Wednesday while throttling back a bit. Self diagnosed, given adequate web images and info. Long 180 mile long drive home yesterday late afternoon took a lot out of me, so next couple days will be quietly recovering.

Since we are in a dry spell with stale snow quality that is forecast to last the rest of this month, I will wait for new snow before returning to Tahoe as have much else to keep me busy. Otherwise, a hard rock band is scheduled at a nearby early afternoon Saturday 1/24/2026 event I am leaning towards attending.

I am sending you some flowers from Southern California, taken an hour ago on my walk around the block and
accompanied by my loyal Boxer pups. I stopped a few times to talk with neighbors who were working in their gardens
or on their cars. I also took pictures of a woodpecker and hummingbirds; but because it's overcased, their colorful
plumage looks grey on the pictures.
