2026 - How's the Weather Where You Are

Thankyou @PeppermintPatty 🤠🤠

I have sand, but it’s such a big area to cover, I don’t have enough sand.

What I have decided to do is grab up the old hay that they have wasted and put it in the gate areas where it is frozen mud divets. That will work until the thaw, when I can get in there with the front loader and scrape the wet, yucky hay out.

It looks like my area is still on track for the ice part of the storm. They just aren’t sure how much ice we’re going to see. Enough to make life miserable, or enough to make life extremely miserable with downed powerlines and I would then have to start the generator.
Goodness. That’s a lot of extra work. I wish you the best ! Sand sounds like a good idea.

Thank you😇😇

Yes, it’s a tremendous amount of work. My 30+ year old Dutch Warmblood would not leave the barn, left to his own devices. It’s the 15 year old Arabian who thinks he has to keep moving that causes me all the work😇😇.

This isn’t my first weather rodeo with my horses, but I am getting too old for such things🤯🤯

Getting ready for -5 to -10 below F.
Got about everything it takes to be prepared for anything.
Got a check list of things I prepare for a water or power outage.
I’ve seen a lot colder around here but it helped that I was younger and stronger then.
Might be a real stress test if the power goes out around here.
Last below zero clipper came through and people on the other half of town had an outage.
