2026 - How's the Weather Where You Are

Storm warnings are still up, but no freezing rain yet, even though it's been predicted for every hour today, and no snow since the inch that fell last night, and it's now 2:00 PM. I've been checking current active weather radar and there was heavy stuff happening all around me all day. And now a big patch of clear heading in my direction. But like they say, "It ain't over til it's over." I hope posting this hasn't jinxed anything.

It's after 7:00 PM now. We finally got an hour and a half of light freezing rain, and it's supposed to clear after that. No power outages in my area that I know of, but I've still got my fingers crossed.

The skies will be mostly cloudy. The high will be -9°.

We had a ton of snow yesterday, and overnight.
Road crews have been busy clearing the roads. They do a great job.

It's in the 20s in the Richmond area. About 4 inches of snow plus an inch or two of sleet/freezing rain. We've been out; roads are not good and we are staying home for the rest of the day. County roads are plowed and city roads are not.

Later on today I'll light the gas fire and read a good book.

32 degrees near the coast this morning as the sun is starting rise. Last night there were stories of the kids enjoying the snow in Central Park, NY. I remember those days when my brother would shove snow balls down my neck.

We had lots of rain and many hours of freezing temperatures but fortunately rarely at the same time. We are very lucky. I am still exhausted from worrying about a power failure and running around trying to prepare.

Did the same with preparing for power to go out … it didn’t, but I’m exhausted from that anyway.

It is cold and getting colder. For the next week the low will be in the 20s or teens. I am trying to remember to be grateful that we didn't lose power. I'm sure I will be if I can just get warm. This is Atlanta. What gives?
