2026 - How's the Weather Where You Are

So far, winter conditions suggest a there may be a very good Maple Syrup production season if we end up with above freezing days & below freezing nights come spring. A cold snowy winter helps hydrate the maple trees and keep them domant until the right time in spring.

Yes this is perfect weather to keep those maple trees dormant and just right for maple syrup making. Do you make maple syrup too Mr. Pants?

On our property, the 2026 winter weather where we're located is easy to manage (less snow on the deck & ground to shovel), with frequent stretches of daylight hours above the freezing point. On the other hand, it is strange. Well, our climate has been shifting somewhat in this region.

So in recent years we've too frequently had less than needed snow-pack levels up in the high elevations of our mountain ridges. That's the key factor that regulates moisture downslope. And, when it's abnormal up there, we're more vulnerable in summer to forest wildfires. Some of those have approached uncomfortably close to our property.😒

It's been cold for this far south. The high today was only 36F (2C) With a wind chill of 25F (-4C).

Right now at 5:30 pm it's 32F (0C) with a wind chill of 22F (-6C) and the forcasted low for tomorrow morning is 20F (-7C) with a wind chill of 10F (-12C).

-2 degrees right now. I think I have adjusted to it being below 20 degrees this long (inside at least)
Supposed to get really warm this week - up in the low 30s!! :ROFLMAO:
