It's a mid-winter reset for me. My ski boots are being replaced under warranty w this year's model so until they show up early next week, I'm doing other things in order to give my legs a few days break rather than ski in my old boots.

It was 60°F on Thursday afternoon.......that's insane!!! Worked out and had a Chiro visit then made a trip to the gun range to shoot my pistol.

Yesterday laid low after a poor night's sleep - not a day to fool around w motorcycles or guns even though the wx was warm. Our daughter's yellow lab Aspen is w us for a few days, which is fun.

Today I'm rested and will be w Aspen in the morning then heading down to my motorcycle storage and out for a ride.

A few cow elk were trying to cross the road to the 15th hole of the golf course. After the lead cow waits for traffic to clear she tries several times to open the lid of a wheelie bin left out by the street after Tuesday's garbage collection. It was empty so she finally gave up.

Usually the bulls are off by themselves at this time of year, but 6 cows make for some great security in an area w plenty of mountain lions. He's watching them attempt to cross the road.

Good morning to everyone. It is 49 degrees this morning. It will be 34 tonight. I think Florida has moved to Montana or any colder state.

I had a delivery from Walmart with a Spanish speaking man, who I am not sure understood what I said but he was nice.

Another delivery from Publix and a man who I have had many times and is a good shopper.

I hope you are all well and have a good day. :)

Happy Saturday, SF Peeps!

I've not had a lot of time for the forum this past week because I've been enjoying time with my sister. She's visiting from Toronto, and the weather has handsomely rewarded her for making the trip. It's ranged from the mid 70s to low 80s everyday.

We've always gotten along splendidly, so I'm looking forward to having another full week with her before she returns home.

Hope all here who aren't feeling well will improve soon. And I'm sure sorry to see that the NE US is in for another cold snap this weekend.

Bundle up and take heart — Persephone will re-emerge from the underworld soon and bring spring along with her.

Good Saturday morning all. Supposed to be 70 and sunny here in Central Florida, and I do have to run a couple of errands, but I'm just not feeling it. Some days, every step I take and every breath I take seems like an insult. (I wish I had a better word for it, but that's the best I can do.) I've checked the weather up in Ohio, and my family up there is dealing with highs in the teens and lows in the single digits. Brrrr.

Maybe a bowl of Campbell's tomato soup and a grilled cheese sandwich would make me feel better.

They are replacing the roof on the house next door, and this is the 3rd or 4th day they've been on it. Only 2 older men are doing the work, and they're slow - plus they don't start until mid-morning, then they stop about 4 PM. It shouldn't matter to me but there is constant noise and banging, and the room where I have my computer is next to their side of my house. I left home awhile yesterday afternoon; maybe again today.

Have a good day everyone, and enjoy your weekend.

I can sympathize with this, @MACKTEXAS. That would get on my nerves, too. When we lived in Michigan, the man next door would constantly use an electronic saw, the kind that makes a high-pitched whining sound. We would hear it literally every day, most of the day, for months. I have no idea what, exactly, he was doing. He never seemed to actually produce anything. It drove me batty.

With respect to How Is Your Day Today, mine is going to be spent in front of the computer. I asked a publisher for some extra work, they came through, and then I started to fall behind because of a different project. I cannot blow this opportunity, so I will be working through the weekend. It's chilly and dreary here, so I don't mind too much.

I do have to go out and find a birthday present for a friend, though. Darn; guess I'll have to do some shopping later. ;)

I'm still gloomy & moody today. I've spent most of the day offline, playing my game or doing some cross stitch....keeping to myself.

I made BBQ Pulled Chicken, for the first time today. It turned out good, I'll make it again, some day.

Hugs to everyone!

My daughter stopped off in Toronto to visit her former coworkers for a week. She flew to Chicago today. The company she worked for before she went to France rehired her and gave her a 2-step promotion! Plus a 50% raise!

She was pretty chatty on the phone today. She is relieved to be home from France. The cultures are just too different and the people weren't friendly. The other students were all well into adulthood, and from all different countries, and she made a nice group of friends at the uni.

I warned her again how things have progressed here. Told her where not to go in Chicago and not to attend protests or get involved in any way with that stuff. She has a loud mouth and can be quite an activist, but since she is my daughter, she must not. I don't want anything to happen to her!

I did some laundry today, and played with the dog and the two cats. Finished reading the latest Patricia Cornwell book - Sharp Force. It was great, as usual.

I hope y'all had great days!

Yesterday, we were invited, along with other relatives and friends, to a surprise 100th Birthday celebration for my sister's mother-in-law.

It was at the state-of-the-art Senior's facility, Momiji Centre, which was designed by the late Raymond Moriyama.

The lady of honour, looks decades younger, and was thrilled with the day. It was good to catch up with folks we haven't seen for ages. Individual bento boxes were served, and there was fresh fruit and an awesome cake for dessert.

Momiji has lots of activities to keep the seniors occupied. Regular trips to the shopping centre nearby, line dancing, art classes, etc. They have a Japanese garden out back, for residents to putter around in.

In summer, they host bazaars featuring resident arts & crafts.

But .. I digress. The birthday "girl" had a wonderful day. She was taking photos of all her guests, and got a group photo, in true Japanese fashion.

In the morning, I baked a loaf of white bread because I thought it would be good for the supper. I was going to make soup in the early afternoon. and got that done, too. I have quite a bit left and will not have to worry about planning another supper for a day or two.

Then I made a wash and hung out some of it outside on the lines.

In the afternoon, I made an order at Amazon, which was a real annoying, timely task. I ordered two sheet sets and a digital timer. The total was way in access of the $ 35.00 needed. So I expected free shipping. I was careful about my choices to make sure Amazon would ship them with no charge.
Did this happen? Nope. They charged me for the digital timer which was being shipped by them too. After at least one hour of trying to fix it I got fed up and deleted the da** thing. I also got fed up with their constant pushing for me to get Free Prime for 30 days, which I did not want.

I wanted/needed to get acquainted with my new Kindle, but that ain't happening tonight. I am still ticked off at Amazon.
