US skier Lindsey Vonn airlifted off mountain after practice run in Italy

Oh, that's bad. Hope it gets better soon but you're right......she'll probably be out for the duration. What a pity.
Maybe airlifting is the only way off the mountain in a hurry but even then it shows she needs more attention than a medic or aid station can provide.

She's had injuries in the past. Hopefully this one doesn't kill her career or ability to walk normal

Yeah that's bad news, it was going well for her up until now. It was a nasty off camber jump into a left footed turn in flat light.

Probably the most annoying commentator w the most annoying voice ever!

Read an article today that quoted her as not in pain, not swollen, and with the help of a knee brace, she plans to continue. She was said to have completely ruptured her ACL last Friday. She even skied today after 3 days of physical therapy and doctors’ advice. Article didn't say how that outing went though. She did say as long as there is a chance, she will continue. Next up are the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics 6-22 Feb.

If she doesn't feel it now, I think she will by the time she's our age. Hope all goes well for her.

That's a painful injury. I've learned to realize when something's going on with them usually extreme tightess or soreness from over or miss use. Her injury happened instantly which means probably not a minor or clean injury.

She'll definitely feel it later on even if it's from the surgery she'll eventually need.

This one shows how she got in trouble better than the one I viewed. It looks like she got sideways in the air.
It looks like she couldn't control the torque. The cause many not have been the knee but upper body/hips?

Any of these athletes/events where they go airborne it takes a lot of strength to control one's self mid air.
