I've been watching "The Night Agent" on Netflix. It's very entertaining. But how many times can you have the hero or heroine escape almost certain death at the last possible second in one episode for it to be a bit over the top? :ROFLMAO:

I now just watch to see how creative and how up to the last second they can get to saving the victim or hero. Amazes me how
many ways it can be actually :ROFLMAO:
 
I just finished the new version of All Things Great and Small. It’s another excellent show produced with flair and quality. The British make it look easy. Great viewing!

Hijack - season 2 (2026)

This is in essence a film length tale that was unfortunately stretched into an 8 part series production which is confusing, nearly incomprehensible, full of head scratching red herrings, all amounting to a series that shouldn’t have been made in the first place. The writers took an engaging first season whose story was about an attempted hijacking on an airplane, and basically shifted the premise to a Berlin subway train, while gumming it up with overwriting.

Most of the production values were good: acting, cinematography, music. But the story was painfully slow to develop, and there weren’t enough teaser hints to keep the viewer interested. Instead we get constant scene shifting to substitute for plot, along with incessant views of the subway train traveling along the subway tracks-- as if to remind us that, yes, this is taking place on a moving train. Only big Idris Elba fans would keep watching this one.

In short, the first half of the series was boring, then we get rapid fire plot points sprayed at us that are bewildering, but presented as important. It’s sudden complexity wasn’t clever, it was puzzling and dull. It was a production that the viewer, once having started watching, kept hoping for something to happen. When it finally did, we were happy that the series was over.

About The Pitt, the gory stuff is not the main focus of the series, and you can always look away. I think it's one of the best series I've ever seen on TV, for the writing, the acting, and the realistic people. They aren't good guys vs. bad guys, they are just people, some of them incredibly brilliant and some heroic. There's also a good deal of humor in it, so in spite of taking place in a hospital emergency room, it somehow remains upbeat.

It's also fun seeing Noah Wyle returning as the chief surgeon, after seeing him many years ago on ER as an intern in his first job.

We watched it when it originally aired on Fox. This is the one with the Edgar Allen Poe theme, correct? It is really suspenseful and creepy and we loved it. Kevin Bacon was great as the damaged former FBI agent.

That's the one, yes. I saved it for those nothing on that interests me period. Kevin Bacon was definitely the biggest part of keeping
you interested, he carried that series.
 
We finished watching Grant last night and found myself wishing that it would keep going. It's a fascinating story and the series was well done except for some of the weird looking motion in some of the scenes from colorization or something. I'm not sure what caused it to look like it's AI generated. Other than that, you really get a feel for the brutality of the Civil War. According to some estimates, more than 750,000 people died in the war.

Now I'm interested in watching more Civil War videos.
 
I’ve been meaning to find a good series to get into lately. Sometimes after dinner it’s nice to relax with a show for an hour or two. Any recommendations for something worth watching?
