Hello. I was one of the original 12 members of the Centennial Rod and Custom club in 1967. My 55 chevy 2 door is long gone, but I still follow the Canadian Vintage Modifieds club who race at Flamboro Speedway near Hamilton. 2026 is their 60th racing season, and many of the car owners/drivers are third generations of some of the original families.

Absolutely agree with your statement. Eleven months in total, three different facilities TGH, Toronto Rehab, and lastly Bridgepoint hospital. No cost, no question that I received top notch care for my medical conditions, which were a number of serious medical issues. As luck would have it....I fell in the shower room at Bridgepoint, and broke 3 small bones in my left ankle. Fortunately the fractures did not require pins or metal wiring, but it set me back 7 weeks while I had a cast on my leg.
I thought you might like that book. It has a lot of little known facts in it. For example, less than 3 weeks before Lincoln was murdered, his killer was seen meeting with Confederate officers in Montreal, Quebec. I have not heard of either of those clubs, but have heard of Gary.
Its nice that Gary Elliott has had such a long and successful racing career. His website is Gary Elliott Motor Sport .com. His son David Elliott was a long time member of the Canadian Vintage Modifieds Club, and later he was very successful in the Super Late Model series at various southern Ontario tracks. David is a senior mechanic instructor for GM Canada corporate division. Gary was sponsored by Quaker State, while David was sponsored by Pennzoil for over 20 years.
Yes I was diagnosed with it on 3 different times, so it was gowns, gloves and masks for months on end. It resulted in me being kept longer than originally planned.
Thanks for your kind words about me. While I would like to be able to go out and do a sit down job at a tourist location, I don't think I am up to it, anymore. My ability to walk is pretty limited now , and I get tired easily. I am home now, getting daily nursing care twice a day, and getting back into using the home desk top computer , again. My Wife Brenda has been a solid rock of support for the whole year that I was ill and in hospital. She was at the hospital 5 days of every week, for months. JIMB.
