United States and Israel attack Iran Early Saturday Morning

Thanks for your thorough explanation. I will ask you to see post 516 which leaves a much different impression regardng the supply issue.
Post 516 was the one I directly responded to, in which I specifically highlighted your first line. My point was essentially the same as yours in that respect. Because oil is traded on a global market -- gas/petrol prices being an extension of that.

So I think we’re actually making the same point, just from slightly different angles.

Yes, I was going too fast and recognized what you're pointing out. Sorry.

Anyway, TV is on at this time, and none of us have anymore worries. All is now resolved in the war and the future is glorious going forward.

I've never understood why some locations can get away with charging so much more for the same gas. It's still $2.89 at most of our stations here. There's one that's always been at least 10 cents higher than the rest, and even that one is only at $3.08 now.
I think it depends on what part of the country you live in because I think gas comes from different places, and therefore cost different prices. I

also know that our county specifically has high gas taxes, which maintain our roads. I think Nevada has some of the highest prices in the country right behind California because I think our gas comes from California.

The US president has suggested his war with Iran could soon come to an end just hours after completing a mysterious phone call with Vladimir Putin.

Trump told reporters US forces are 'very far ahead of schedule', claiming Iran's military has effectively been destroyed.

'I think the war is very complete, pretty much,' Trump told CBS News. 'They have no navy, no communications, they've got no Air Force ... Wrapping up is all in my mind.'

Trump's remarks came after Putin shared a proposal to quickly end the war during the call, according to the Kremlin. The two leaders also discussed the current war in Ukraine as well as the oil market in Venezuela.

The stock market clawed back from a brutal session after Trump's remarks, with US oil plunging to $86 per barrel from $91 after he floated a takeover of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Dow closed up 200 points after dropping nearly 900 points at its session low, while the S&P jumped 0.8 percent and the Nasdaq rebounded to 1.4 percent after crashing by as much as 1.5 percent.

Trump also claimed Iran's missile and drone capabilities had been neutralized by US strikes. Iran launched retaliatory attacks on US bases and other Gulf nations after the death of its supreme leader, killing seven American troops.

'Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones,' Trump added.
If you look, they have nothing left. There's nothing left in a military sense.'

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, has sent oil prices skyrocketing. A fifth of global oil flows through the narrow strait.

Gas here was $2..99, Friday, $3.19 Sunday. Not much difference.

I've had a few skin cancers in my life. They didn't change much in two days.

Gas seems to be averaging about $3 bucks a gallon around here. A lot of the stations are advertising it at $2.99 and 9/10. which is absurd IMO. Pricing gas in tenths of a cent was bad enough back in the day when it was 30 cents a gallon. But now it is 10 times as ridiculous. I did the math and do you know how much gas equates to 1/10 th of a cent when the price is $3 bucks a gallon? One fourth of a teaspoon!.

I really hope that we choose to end it quickly because obviously it never should’ve happened in the first place. However, since he’s a terrible liar, you really can’t believe anything he says, and who knows if it will end quickly or not.

I really hope it does since now the people in Iran have poisonous stuff raining from the sky from all the bombing. The long-term health effects are going to be horrible. I really feel bad for all the people that have died, their homes destroyed, and all those little girls that died when their school was bombed.

The way I see it the only way this war ends quickly is if the powers that be realize that it is unwinnable and decide to try to save face by declaring victory and then going home. The other more dangerous scenario is that the powers that be in either the US and/or Israel find themselves unable to accept that the war is unwinnable and go with the Nuclear option. That could get really bad because although Iran does not have nuclear weapons, their ally Russia has over 5,000 of them.

Wind and solar power are no reliable sources of electrical energy. Much better would be to build safe nuclear reactors. Now you might ask how could they be safe? The Dual Fluid Reactor is. It's not in use yet, but it could be soon.

That does indeed look promising, but it's still a good ten years into the future if everything works as intended. The plant in Rwanda is expected to be operational by the end of the year. Then they need to test it for a few years. If, and that's a big "if" it works reliably, then it would take several years to get all the permits required in the U.S. and then construct a facility. Estimates put that at 10-15 years to be operational here.

In the meantime, solar and wind power are proven technologies... unless it's night time or the sun's not blowing, which is where power storage is necessary, and there are various ways to do that. The electric grid also needs upgrading in order to move power from where it's generated and stored to where it's used.

Massive airstrikes hit Tehran with explosions last night as mr President promised the world the war would end 'very soon' and claimed the US has 'already won'.

The sky above the Iranian capital glowed amid the latest wave of US-Israeli attacks proving the US President's vow to 'go further' in the conflict was serious.

Mr president had earlier insisted war in the Middle East was 'pretty much' over and claimed the operation launched 10 days ago was 'very far' ahead of schedule.

The American President even described the massive US and Israeli onslaught as a 'short-term excursion' which will be 'finished pretty quickly'.

But further remarks betrayed Mr presidents' willingness to keep the war with Iran going, as he added: 'We've already won in many ways but we haven't won enough...we're going to go further.'

He said: 'We could call it a tremendous success right now… or we could go further, and we’re going to go further. We will not relent until the enemy is totally and decisively defeated.'

A reporter pressed Trump on the vacillating messaging on the future of the war, pointing out: 'You said the war is "very complete." But your defense secretary says "this is just the beginning." So which is it?'

The president responded with a blunt, but perplexing, answer: 'You could say both.'

The President followed up on Monday night by warning Iran would face 'Death, Fire, and Fury' if they close off the Straight of Hormuz.

'If Iran does anything that stops the flow of Oil within the Strait of Hormuz, they will be hit by the United States of America TWENTY TIMES HARDER than they have been hit thus far,' he said in a Truth Social post.

'Additionally, we will take out easily destroyable targets that will make it virtually impossible for Iran to ever be built back, as a Nation, again — Death, Fire, and Fury will reign upon them — But I hope, and pray, that it does not happen!'

Iran's Revolutionary guard simply stated: 'We are the ones who will determine the end of the war.'

Videos last night showed further strikes on the country causing 'unusually large' explosions as the conflict continued in earnest.

There's a number of rumours about how much damage has been inflicted on Israel, the trouble is finding credible information.
I've read that Israel's "Iron Dome" isn't very effective anymore. Given the fact, that Iran wants to terminate Israel and doesn't seem to stop bombing it is possible that Israel must use nuclear bombs in the end. I don't know if Russia will react in the same way.

Iran has warned that it will not allow 'one litre of oil' to be shipped from the Middle East if US and Israeli attacks continue after it unleashed a deadly airstrike on Bahrain.

US president last night threatened Tehran with 'death, fire and fury' if the regime continues to block oil exports.

The heightened rhetoric did little to quell a sharp retreat in crude prices and a rally in global shares, which came after Trump expressed confidence in a swift end to hostilities even after Iran appointed Mojtaba Khamenei as its new supreme leader in a signal of defiance.

Israel says its war aim is to overthrow Iran's system of clerical rule. US officials mainly say Washington's aim is to destroy Iran's missile capabilities and nuclear programme, but Trump has said the war can end only with a compliant Iranian government.

At least 1,332 Iranian civilians have been killed and thousands wounded since the US and Israel launched a barrage of air and missile strikes across Iran at the end of February.

Last night, one woman was killed in an Iranian attack on Bahrain as Tehran attacked its Gulf neighbours.

The 29-year-old was killed as eight other were injured following a hit on a residential building in the nation's capital, Manama.

Bahrain called described the attack as a 'sinful Iranian aggression.'
