United States and Israel attack Iran Early Saturday Morning

Thanks for your thorough explanation. I will ask you to see post 516 which leaves a much different impression regardng the supply issue.
Post 516 was the one I directly responded to, in which I specifically highlighted your first line. My point was essentially the same as yours in that respect. Because oil is traded on a global market -- gas/petrol prices being an extension of that.

So I think we’re actually making the same point, just from slightly different angles.

Yes, I was going too fast and recognized what you're pointing out. Sorry.

Anyway, TV is on at this time, and none of us have anymore worries. All is now resolved in the war and the future is glorious going forward.

I've never understood why some locations can get away with charging so much more for the same gas. It's still $2.89 at most of our stations here. There's one that's always been at least 10 cents higher than the rest, and even that one is only at $3.08 now.
I think it depends on what part of the country you live in because I think gas comes from different places, and therefore cost different prices. I

also know that our county specifically has high gas taxes, which maintain our roads. I think Nevada has some of the highest prices in the country right behind California because I think our gas comes from California.

The US president has suggested his war with Iran could soon come to an end just hours after completing a mysterious phone call with Vladimir Putin.

Trump told reporters US forces are 'very far ahead of schedule', claiming Iran's military has effectively been destroyed.

'I think the war is very complete, pretty much,' Trump told CBS News. 'They have no navy, no communications, they've got no Air Force ... Wrapping up is all in my mind.'

Trump's remarks came after Putin shared a proposal to quickly end the war during the call, according to the Kremlin. The two leaders also discussed the current war in Ukraine as well as the oil market in Venezuela.

The stock market clawed back from a brutal session after Trump's remarks, with US oil plunging to $86 per barrel from $91 after he floated a takeover of the Strait of Hormuz.

The Dow closed up 200 points after dropping nearly 900 points at its session low, while the S&P jumped 0.8 percent and the Nasdaq rebounded to 1.4 percent after crashing by as much as 1.5 percent.

Trump also claimed Iran's missile and drone capabilities had been neutralized by US strikes. Iran launched retaliatory attacks on US bases and other Gulf nations after the death of its supreme leader, killing seven American troops.

'Their missiles are down to a scatter. Their drones are being blown up all over the place, including their manufacturing of drones,' Trump added.
If you look, they have nothing left. There's nothing left in a military sense.'

The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, a narrow waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, has sent oil prices skyrocketing. A fifth of global oil flows through the narrow strait.

Gas here was $2..99, Friday, $3.19 Sunday. Not much difference.

I've had a few skin cancers in my life. They didn't change much in two days.

Gas seems to be averaging about $3 bucks a gallon around here. A lot of the stations are advertising it at $2.99 and 9/10. which is absurd IMO. Pricing gas in tenths of a cent was bad enough back in the day when it was 30 cents a gallon. But now it is 10 times as ridiculous. I did the math and do you know how much gas equates to 1/10 th of a cent when the price is $3 bucks a gallon? One fourth of a teaspoon!.

I really hope that we choose to end it quickly because obviously it never should’ve happened in the first place. However, since he’s a terrible liar, you really can’t believe anything he says, and who knows if it will end quickly or not.

I really hope it does since now the people in Iran have poisonous stuff raining from the sky from all the bombing. The long-term health effects are going to be horrible. I really feel bad for all the people that have died, their homes destroyed, and all those little girls that died when their school was bombed.

The way I see it the only way this war ends quickly is if the powers that be realize that it is unwinnable and decide to try to save face by declaring victory and then going home. The other more dangerous scenario is that the powers that be in either the US and/or Israel find themselves unable to accept that the war is unwinnable and go with the Nuclear option. That could get really bad because although Iran does not have nuclear weapons, their ally Russia has over 5,000 of them.
