I liked Sonia Very Much! She has not been put on my case permanently yet. I sure hope she is!

Met my physical therapist. Usama. I liked him too. The home health agency Americare has sent three very good people so far.

Sonia and I went for a very good walk in the spring sunshine. We went over to the park. I walked much better than I expected to.

Great to hear good news!!!

She will do laundry cleaning shopping. Accompany me outside. Light cooking.

I especially need help throwing out accumulated paper. Have tons of that.

Come with me to doctor appointments.

Hopefully I will like her. They want me to have company.

Four hours in a row
My next door neighbor, who is a good friend, fell about a year ago and had other injuries. She needed an aide several hours every day, actually two aides, one in the morning and one in the evening. I don't know the morning one, but the evening one was such a delightful lady that she became a part of our little group of friends. We invited her to join our weekly Rummicub game, and she turned out to be one of the best players. She is very bright and tactful, with a funny, cheerful disposition, and apparently gives perfect assistance to my friend.

I hope you get someone like her!

This is wonderful news! I've been hoping you would get someone who is nice and actually helpful. 😀

Well l am depressed. Sonia can’t be assigned to me. Has a long time prior patient whose hours and days conflict.

Shucks. I really mean shit. 🥲
Listen everything happens for a reason... she was probably sent to site you out, and tell them back at base what type of aide would be most suitable for you.. so things will probably work out fine..

It’s just that between hospital and rehabs I was home for short periods and had aides. I HATED ALL OF THEM. Very thick accents. Lazy. No personality. I was very surprised by liking this one so much and so quickly.

Not used to good luck.

At least it is Spring. The weather today has been marvelous.

But maybe Sonia will try to get a better match for you. It is possible.

And, Will she be able to come back to you at all?
Such as to go with you to your appointment?
Or for periodic checks, or evaluations of how the others are doing for you?

I was told Sonia has a patient the weekend through Wednesday. Today is Friday. Some extra dollars for working last minute today.

Remember being single and saying “All the best ones are already taken!”

I was talking to the neighbor the other day. She is 91.
She recently spent a week in the hospital and a month in rehab. She has an aid 3 days a week, 8 hours. While she was away she lost the aid she had for a long time.

The new one also has a thick accent, doesn't communicate well. I told her to wait a week or so and if it did not get better to request a new aid. It is hard enough to be ill or weak and deal with these type of things. I would suggest the same for you.

My son, DIL and I made Fajr prayer together this morning. Fajr is the prayer that must be offered before sunrise. This is significant because as some of you may recall, DIL is residing in North Carolina until the end of the year and we are in New Jersey. We made the connection using Facetime. It was a happy event for the three of us and hopefully we can do it more often. DIL and son make prayer together every evening, maybe twice sometimes. It's not feasible most mornings because my son leaves for work around 3:30 a.m. You know what they say...."The family that prays together stays together".

Busy, busy, busy ... this morning, my daughters drove my wife to the LAX airport where she joins church friends for a pilgrimage to holy sites in Greece and Turkey. 2019 was the last time when I joined her flying to Europe. 12hours non-stop, intercontinental flights have become a health risk at age 90 (actually, LA to Turkey is almost 15 flying hours) but my wife is much younger and still has the endurance to do it.

My daughters just came back from the airport (165 mile roundtrip in L.A's stop-n-go "freeway" traffic, LOL,) and now they take my grandson to his baseball game. My older daughter will stay with me while my wife is gone.

Yesterday, I went shopping for food to stay alive for the next two weeks. Lucky, ducky me: I had lost my $240 prescription driving/sunglasses in a supermarket; but they found them, and I got'm back.

This morning, I prepared Hummingbird nectar (1 part sugar with 4 parts of water,) mopped the floor, cooked Quinoa that I mix with
salsa, and finally, I fed my wife's chickens with some green kitchen leftovers.

And now I start relaxing, having a cup of coffee with my loyal and affectionate pups who calm me down. In hot weather, I go
hiking with them at sunrise; but today it's overcast and cool, so I'll go later, doing my mini-gym workout in the meantime.

The parents of my son-in-law will have soon their 50tiest wedding anniversary. That will be a large and nerve-wrecking party.
Ours is also on the horizon. If I were still married to my first wife, then our 60tiest anniversary would already have been passed.

My first marriage was a trial run during which I learnt my lessons. So, when in my second marriage my 20-years younger wife
somehow insist that, if she makes a mistake, it is actually my mistake, then I just smile and tell her, "I love you." I still remember:
I locked myself up in the bathroom when she came running after me with a knife in her hand. By being forgiving, our marriage
survived. Now we are closer than ever before. Marriages have their ups and downs. It's worth hanging on because in old age
I have now a loving family around me.

Whoa!!! on the chasing you with a knife (I'd have been outta there, permanently), but congrats on your happy, successful marriage.

Went through the desk and files, cleaned things out, shredded the old stuff. Hooray! On a roll, I also went through my wallet, sorted out receipts and such and found a gift card from the hardware store. Looked it up and it still has a balance of $145.00! Woo Hoo! I had forgotten I even had it. Nothing I need right now but I am sure it will be useful in the next few months.

Some days are just good.
