Show Us Your Parents!

I just finished sorting piles and piles and endless piles of history. But mixed with babies and vacations were some lovely pictures of my parents. I'll have to take pictures of the pictures and post my favorites. One of the best is my mother and her teenage friends. It was probably taken in the late 1930's. Besides how young they all are is the back story. My mother grew up in a strict family.

No wonder she had trouble understanding me eventually. My teen years were the hedonistic 70's, I wish I could give her a hug right now in fact. But back to the picture. My aunt and the other girls are wearing romper suits and shorts. They must have rolled the hems a bit, a lot of leg for those days I'm sure. There's my Mom on the end in a sensible skirt to her knees. I will post that pic soon.

Meanwhile...show off some of your family snaps, maybe adding whatever you know about the day it was taken. Brings back so many memories even if you weren't there.

Beautiful picture Bob! You look just like your Pop, I love that dress.

Think my mom had this in a box of old photos and I had scanned them for the family some time back. Here's a shot of my father and me when we visited this summer. Also a shot of me and my mom (my wife is beside me) from this summer when we spent a day up in NH.

Hard to get a picture with them both together. They always took pictures of each other.

My parents flanked by my mother's parents. Probably taken in the late 50's early 60's.

These were my parents in their younger days, not sure of the year, but it was long before they had me. They had me in their 40s.
