How are you today?

Took 4 year old GS for the day yesterday. ❤️ We met up with DD's family for about an hour and watched 11 year old GD play in a street hockey league (sponsored by the public parks department). What a hoot! GD enjoyed herself and we all had fun watching, GS included.

Although only the refs wore skates (the kids were in sneakers) and the "puck" was a small orange ball, most hockey rules applied. Sure brought me back to the Gretzky era when we had Los Angeles Kings (ice hockey) season tickets, and the 12 years (ish) during which one of our sons played roller and ice hockey.

It wasn't long before I heard myself yelling, "Clear the puck" or "don't pass in front of your own goal" or "take the shot!"

Life can be filled with good times! ❤️❤️❤️

I wrote this post yesterday and, apparently, forgot to click "post." 😖😅
My boyfriend is at a party today and I likely won't see him until much later tonight. It's now the more relaxed part of my day so, right now I'm watching a show and playing Animal Crossing. ☺️

I really want some microwave popcorn, which I usually have at this time of day, but I've been feeling like I'm eating just slightly too much lately so, I'm trying to hold out until dinner and skip the popcorn calories.
Well that didn't work. I practice intermittent fasting so don't eat at night and its almost always fine. I'm hungry, but not deeply hungry; it doesn't distract me and it's perfectly manageable. Not last night! Sheesh. I skipped the popcorn and graham crackers yesterday and I was so hungry whilst watching hockey with husband that I was having trouble focusing on the game.

Husband was eating some cheese puffs and I watched him pick up each one; I couldn't help it. Finally, I had a piece of cinnamon/raisin swirl bread with chunky peanut butter on top. And I'm really glad I did because that actually brought me back to comfortably hungry.

I guess I have my calories well balanced with current my diet (meaning what I eat each day, not a "diet").

I loved this post, Star. I've been a hockey fan for 36-ish years. (Husband played goal tender in community college and later adult league hockey. 🥰

Ok so far today.

Weather - Sunny!

Tai Chi class this morning was good. After the Chi Gong warm up our teacher spent the rest of the class with the beginners whilst I took the more senior members through The 37 Step form, isolating some of the usual sticking points people usually have. Came home and spent some time in the back garden putting weedkiller down on the flags and doing some tidying up of toys and mud kitchen etc.

Mrs Oy is on her way home from taking Likkle Grandaughter home then we're off to the pub for pie and beer

@IrishEyes, It varies. Both jabs left me with a sore arm for a few days. My husband had no issues, just a little tenderness.
I was very confused when I got the notice I was due the jab. Got there and she says.. you had the 2 last year, you are good
for life, unless they pop out something else in the future. Oh well, needed to get that flea collar before she got fleas on me.

My youngest daughter (43) had shingles last week. She did strenuous physical labor one day moving mulch around and getting all sweaty and grubby. She also has MS, thankfully non-degenerative (so far), which increased her susceptibility. So I am bugging her three older sisters (one of whom also has non-degenerative MS) and all of the spouses to get the shingles vaccine ASAP! Youngest daughter was in agony! She did go on a steroid which helped with the itching and swelling but still had a lot of pain.

I was glad to have absolutely nothing on my to do list today. But oh no, I couldn't leave things alone. I called my electric provider with a question about my new contract and everything went downhill from there. Ever so nice and courteous, but he failed to provide any answers I'd have confidence in, nor could verify.

I then tried to access my online a/c with them, thinking maybe it would be more helpful, but got a notice saying "page has moved or is no longer available." - What? - Why? So then that's another number to call for help from their tech guy. He reset it, said wait an hour, try again. Finally got in, but the website still shows the old contract, even though the new one was supposed to start immediately. So then I call them back, and another agent says, "not to worry, it's okay. You're on the new one but its just not updated yet online" Oh, I see, the change was made 13 days ago, but it still takes time to update? What kind of place are you running over there????? :ROFLMAO::mad:

I finally put everything away and not dealing anymore today with all the wonderful technology, apps, and "convenience" we have in 2026.

Sometimes I hear Alanis singing "Isn't it Ironic" several times a day myself.

No one posting in this thread today? That's unusual.

I'm just very thankful the tornadoes and 3" hail which was headed for my town barely missed me last night. How trivial my complaint yesterday now seems about not enough to do and a technical problem (post 3266). Neighbors near me, but especially those a few miles further out are dealing with broken trees and damage, and now it's raining (again).

Wishing all of you a good day.

Just got back from a short vacation. It’s nice to visit with friends. They’re not in great health. You realize that they’ve aged and I’m sure they think the same about us.

I may look really ragged today. The skin below my bad eye is very thin and I must have scratched it while putting in drops. I have a shiner.
