I comment a lot on posts on news sites. I know it's fruitless but it's my way to vent over circumstances I have no control over. In other words, I'm getting it off of my chest. Also, I like reading other peoples comments whether I agree with them or not. What is very funny is that anyone with a keyboard and an internet connection thinks they are a tactical general, polished negotiator, and maybe even a secret agent.
It's out of control and no one with any clout is willing to challenge him. Don't forget putting the someone's name on the John F Kenndy Center for the Performing Arts in addition to JFKS name. Also, painting the National Mall Reflecting Pool Blue at I believe a cost of 6.9 million. I could go on and on. All of these millions going for someone's vanity projects with us the tax payers paying for it, not to mention the ballroom which I hear now we'll be paying for also. Our war with Iran is a lost cause, so now we're going to invade Cuba! Plus, we're spending billions on a new East Wing of the White House, and installing a giant frickin' arch on the National Mall... But that's not all! Now we're going to paint the beautiful granite siding of the Eisenhower Building white to match the White House! Somebody make it stop!!!
I hope so too, but it's unlikely anything will ever become of it.I saw this same graphic, and honestly, it makes my stomach turn. We’re talking about a conflict where people's lives and the entire global economy are hanging by a thread, and it looks like a handful of people are treating the tragedy like a rigged game of blackjack.
To place a $920 million bet just 70 minutes before a peace announcement isn't 'good intuition'—it’s a smoking gun. If someone in the room is whispering to traders before the rest of the world (or the families of the people involved) knows what’s happening, that is a textbook crime. It’s the definition of crass to sit in a climate-controlled office and make $125 million in an hour off the back of war headlines.
The DOJ and the CFTC are currently investigating over $2.6 billion in these 'suspiciously timed' trades from March and April. It’s one thing to be a savvy investor; it’s another to use insider access to front-run the news.
As someone else mentioned here, it feels like a 'quagmire' of ethics. If our leaders or their staff are cashing in on the 'glow' before they even tell the public what's happening, they aren't just breaking the law—they’re betraying the trust of everyone they represent. I truly hope the authorities follow the money and prosecute whoever is behind this, because the motive here is clearly just greed, plain and simple."
Canada wants to know if we can move our country south of the equator to eascpe the Northern Hemisphere insanity? Most of us a fairly nice blokes and we have no guns.I have never been so grateful as I am today that I live south of the equator. The northern part of the globe seems to have gone completely barmy, marching steadfastly onwards to self-annihilation. Russia, China, the countries of the Middle East and the United States of America all seem to be caught up in an endless contest for power and resources.
Neville Shute's iconic novel "On the Beach" ought to be a warning to us all.
on the beach book - Bing
Nope you need to stay and keep the Phoques away from Greenland.Canada wants to know if we can move our country south of the equator to eascpe the Northern Hemisphere insanity? Most of us a fairly nice blokes and we have no guns.
If we go - YOU go.I have never been so grateful as I am today that I live south of the equator. The northern part of the globe seems to have gone completely barmy, marching steadfastly onwards to self-annihilation.
Considering the endemic corruption in the current justice department, I'm expecting this statement to be released: "We’ve investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong."I saw this same graphic, and honestly, it makes my stomach turn. It's not really funny except for the fact that something that bizarre wouldn't surprise me,Considering the endemic corruption in the current justice department, I'm expecting this statement to be released: "We’ve investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong."
Anybody remember this blast from the past?
And it's not getting any better. Just look at the leading candidates for the 2028 election.Instead of complaining maybe it’s time to think outside the box.
For example ask why in two out of the last three presidential elections the party nominated candidates who could not defeat the then and now current incumbent.
Why did they pick candidates who were even less desirable than their opponent?
What was different in 2020 that allowed them to pick somebody who could defeat the incumbent? And in 2024, what happened to cause the removal of the previous winner and then replace him with another loser?
I’d really like to have to choose between two or more good choices in the future. Not the lesser of two evils.
Just my thoughts.
