Still recuperating from the rowdy music fun this last weekend.

Have completed all my image post processing, HTML coding work, uploaded web content.

So am now, after a few weeks of distractions, am free to get back to reading this Tuesday afternoon, the 2004 book "The Privileged Planet" by Gonzalez and Richards, with astronomy, geology, and astrobiology, that I only got to about page 50 on weeks ago with 300 more to go.

Have a notion to drive from dawn, 130 miles north in the next 3 days for a day photographing more sea shore stones. But don't feel too motivated, and can do so most anytime in the future. Besides, gasoline costs right now are painful. Instead, there is some live jazz music nearby late this afternoon???

This coming holiday weekend may drive up to San Francisco where at for free, in Golden Gate Park, 3 jazz, blues, rock bands are playing outdoors midday.

On way back from hubby's procedure,, stopped at Amish green house to get flowers.
So many lovely looking hanging baskets,,,price not so lovely, $ 39.

Met up with visiting couple to have lunch with.
Then Hubby wanted to see if his cousin could help repair some things that need done.

I was going to weed wack ,, too hot for me.

According to <fire.ca.gov> our wider area has currently 8 wildfires burning.

Below is the fire closest to us. The temperature at our house was over 90 degrees, and still 90 at 5PM.

Left: Picture copied from the TV of the same wildfire as shown on the above two pictures. Right: Fire clouds at sunset.

@KSav Don't worry. We had fires much closer to us. CalFire and our fire department are very efficient.

The City of Sun Valley hired a private firefighting crew w a dozer to do some line building in the open spaces around our homes. I had to go up and give the boys some encouragement! They prob thought "oh dear, here comes the educated idiot to complain."

Me being the old firefighter I regaled them with tales of Yellowstone "back in '88 before the turn of the century." Gawd I'm old AF!!!

I wished them a safe and profitable fire season!!! Oh to be young again.....

Today started out slow and I was trying to nap but calls and texts kept coming through. Late afternoon, my son took me to the floor store. I made myself crazy the last few days looking at samples of flooring online. It didn't take me long to choose the flooring I think will work best throughout the apartment. Andre, a nice salesman took out some planks and found a gray cabinet door (in a similar color to the cabinets I ordered elsewhere) and put them together so I could make sure I liked the combination. I thanked him and asked to speak to his manager, who I told how helpful and patient Andre was.

All went well during the payment process until the bank lady said my credit was frozen. Damn it...I forgot to lift the freeze before I left the house! She gave me a number to call Trans Union. What a joke. After answering some questions, they texted me a link that took me to What's App, which required me to download the app then asked for login information! WTH! I hung up. I'd uninstalled the app over a year ago because I heard negative things about it.

Luckily my son had come in...I used his phone to access Trans Union's website and mine to check my login info and receive texts from them. After submitting my information so I could lift the freeze, it said "Due to technical difficulties, the freeze management page cannot be accessed. " WTF!! I was getting quite frustrated. I did not want to miss out on the $200 discount I would receive once my credit was approved for their store card. One last hail Mary...I decided to try the chat feature, not really expecting to get anywhere. God bless Freddy. I sent an urgent message and he was able to help me after sending me yet another form to fill out.

I called the bank lady back at what was supposed to be her direct number, but got some Medicare free gift spiel. I had the cashier call the bank number he originally called and that rep told me she couldn't process the application because my credit was frozen. I told her the freeze was just lifted and she tried again.. Thank goodness, it went through. I apologized to the cashier for tying up his time and register, but he was still able to ring up customers, so he said No problem.

We went on to Home Depot to buy a through the wall air conditioner I saw online that was on sale. Wouldn't you know, on one of the hottest days, the bedroom AC crapped out. The salesman said that it had to be purchased online. Once home, I started the online order, got to the payment page and it said "Sorry, there's a temporary technical issue. Try back later! " What the what!!! Well, at least they have over 1,300 of them, so they shouldn't run out of stock. Tried two more times, no luck.

My poor son, who sleeps in the bedroom, has to sleep in his favorite chair that's in the studio. He calls her Lena, because he just leans back. it's so comfortable and he takes nice naps. After we left Home Depot, he stopped at our favorite ice cream shoppe and treated us to chocolate-vanilla Italian ices. Yum. 😛

Hmm, that does sound exhausting!
I have a freeze on my credit. I'll have to always remember that before I try to finance anything! Sounds like a hassle!
Hope you get some rest.

Called on to fill-in for a meals driver today, but worth it. These were on the give-away table at the senior center. there hasn't been anything like this for months. I pondered over the teapot wondering in it was a cat or dog represented. I'd go with a dog because of the size in relation to the chair.

That is an awesome tea pot!!!! Very creative thinking!

I like the cat print just below the teapot!

Good morning! We got up a little before the alarm this morning, so I'm actually ahead of schedule for a change! 😮

I thought I'd pop in to send you all a cuppa :coffee: and some sunbeams 🌞, before I need to get going for my dentist appointment.

Today's appointment is going to be an assessment of all of the major work that I need to have done, and to create a plan of action. (Maybe I should say "redone", since my new dentist will be fixing all of my old dentists mistakes! 😠)

Have a wonderful day, and I'll get back to you when I can!

I got my new perfumes delivered this morning...they smell divine 🥰

I'm staying home today...got some admin to do.. but otherwise a free day..

What kind of shower do you have? Is it tiles or a shower surround?

I had a bad experience with baking soda and peroxide on my oven door. For about a year, it would look like baking soda coming from the interior glass.
Tiles.
I've never had that problem with the oven door, but appreciate the head's up. To tell the truth, I got so focused on the showers that I forgot all about the oven door. :ROFLMAO:

Good morning to everyone. I am getting ready to go get my blood tests. They are not fasting, so I can go at a later time.

It is sunny and no rain today. We are still in a drought condition. I do have some longer grass and will need it mowed soon.

All of you that are having problems, I wish the best to all of you.

I also wish all of you a good day and stay well. :)

I love the trash guys!

We are limited to 90 gallons of trash on each weekly pickup. Often, I will have extra with yard debris (especially fall and spring) so I call the office in advance and let them know. When they arrive for pickup, the driver gets out, takes a picture with his tablet and documents the extra bags. I am then billed $3/bag on the monthly bill.

I rarely fill those 50 gallon bags because they are too heavy for me to drag out to the street. Today, when they came, I went out there and he said, "You don't really have extra." He called the office to have them remove the extra charges. He also said I don't have to call the office in advance, that he would take care of the charges.

I always give them a tip, $10-20 each when there are extra bags; sometimes there have been over 15 of them. The company charges extra but those two guys are the ones who do the additional work and they don't get any of that.

These men are so very nice and friendly. I tell them how much I appreciate what they do; it's so important!

wow!... you have to pay for extra bags ?... how much do you already pay annually for your trash service ?

$35 USD (26 pounds?) per month is the normal charge for weekly pickup of the usual 55 gallon cans. My can is 35 gallons, much easier for me to handle.

Comparatively to the UK, is that a lot??

Edited to add: It is a private company, not municipally owned.
