A Nice Walk ( with photos )

Today we went to the Celtic Shore for a walk.
It’s 20 degrees Celsius with partial sun.
We walked 4 kilometres. We saw a family of three before we started our walk. Here are some pictures of our walk.

These are cow birds. Cow birds used to follow cattle when they first originated. They’d pick seeds out of cow dung which was their main way of eating. Since they followed the cows they didn’t have time to care for their babies so they’d find small nests to dump their eggs making it another birds responsibility to raise and care for their young. They still do this even though they no longer follow cows.

That was really interesting about the cow birds. 😊

I knew that the cow birds leave their eggs in other birds nests, for the others to care for them....

But I don't recall knowing the history on that behavior.
Thank you, PP.🙂

Today we needed to go into town anyway. My husband needed to go to the post office to send a birthday gift out to his father and needed to get a hardware part for his wood splitter.

We saw two people on our walk and three dogs. It’s 9 degrees Celsius and sunny today. It’s a beautiful day.

We walked 3 kilometres. Here’s a new figure on our walk. IMG_3973.jpegIMG_3975.jpeg
Here’s another big boat IMG_3976.jpeg
And a big tug boat. IMG_3978.jpeg
I hope your day is grand.

Today we went to the provincial park to do our daily walk. As soon as we got there we noticed a large group of people fishing off the channel dock. They were sucessfully fishing for mackerel. Every time we looked there was someone bringing in one or two.

This is a campsite. There are a total of 52 campsites at this park.

This is the plant that I thought was a berry bush . Clearly it’s not. Lol

And lastly, these are freshly hatched robins.

We only walked 2 kilometres today.
Have a good one.

Wow, I enjoyed all the photos and your explanations.... thank you, as always, for sharing,
@PeppermintPatty

How did you get the top view of that amazing Robin's nest?
Where was the nest located?
Thank you Kaila.
The Robin nest is located just over our night light which is just over our walk out basement entrance. ( door ). We turned the light off so not to spook her. This is her third year using the nest.

We took the photo by reaching up and putting our phone just above the nest and taking a picture. It was very easy to do since it’s not very high up.

Today we went to the forest to go for a walk. We picked that place because it’s really buggy here at the house and that forest has such a few amount of bugs. I’m not sure why but sure enough it wasn’t buggy.

We saw 3 groups of people and 2 dogs. One man with one dog, one couple with no dog and one couple with a dog and a young child.
It was a nice walk. It’ was sunny and 21 degrees Celsius. We walked 3 kilometres.

I hope you all have a nice day.

I liked hearing about your day, and those pictures.

And love the shadows, in each of them!🤩🥰
Thanks Kaila.

Today we went to the same forest walk we did yesterday due to the same reason: the lack of bugs. It’s an overcast day today which tends to bring more of them out.

We saw three people and three dogs. One woman with a golden retriever and a couple with two smaller breed dogs.

It was 16 degrees today and we walked 3 kilometres.

I noticed some more garden gnomes put out while walking today. This one caught my eye first. The two others I will show the next time I’m on this walk.

How cool is that??? They even look like wood ears. 😂 How did you cook them?
Half a pound is a large amount of mushrooms considering how light mushrooms are. What did you have them with?
They great with stir fries and soups and casseroles. I know it's a lot. That tree had a lot of them. They were waste high to about 12ft. high and reached up for some from there. They are loaded with vitamins and other healthy stuff. :)

Today we went to the provincial park.
The gate was open but we parked outside the park like we normally do. I guess the park will be open in a week or so. June 5th!

We walked up the hill and around the loop

We didn’t see any other people walking but did see many people starting to get the park ready to be opened.

Have a great day everyone.
