Boy is it cold out !!!

I think it's funny that on the second one, right next to the -37 degree number, is a Google ad saying "Canada's most romantic spots"

Yeah, if you're a polar bear!

That's WAY too cold for me - how can you even function in weather like that?

Steve, that is mighty cold. Hope your staying warm.

We woke up to minus 23 C this morning which is the coldest yet this winter and for many winters.

80 F + seems a bit too hot for me.

The forecast here in my part of Massachusetts calls for an air temp of -9 degrees, with a windchill that makes it feel like -31. Yeah, it's a bit nippy.

You wouldn't like Thailand then. It's about 85 here every day. But we do get a lot of sea breezes and if it's cloudy it feels a lot cooler. Bonus with those temps though is the swimming pool and the sea are always a lovely tepid temp.

It's 1F here right now at 11PM, with a wind chill of -10F.

Not as bad as Ontario but still - brrrr. Cat is constantly jumping on my lap with his big ol' kitty teeth chattering.

I was on the couch with another episode of OINB, freakin' addictive kids...but poor Callie, his fur is so short it's not even peach fuzz. My down jacket was on the chair. I put the hood over his head and rest covering his body. Even with the heat on this house is drafty.

Yup, it's cold here. I drove to the grocery store and a pack of wolves were following my car.

We had some light snow overnight, but it seems to be thawing now. It's about 2 or 3 deg C at present with a light breeze.
With all the cold reports from Canada, I thought I'd look up Calgary where my niece is a GP. Strangely enough, it looks to be about the same temp as here.

-11 degrees F here as I brew my first cup of coffee. With the wind chill, it's -33! Last night I made sure my bird feeders and were stocked and the suet feeders spread with high energy "bark butter". Even the birds look cold.

Don't you hate drafty houses? Is it an old building?

We renovated an old (85 years old) house a few years ago, insulated it for the first time (can you believe that???) and even with putting insulation in the walls, replacing the doors and windows and sealing every last crack we could find it was still cold the minute the furnace stopped. If I was standing in the family room where the wood stove was located, one side of my body was blistering hot and the other was chilled! After that house, I fell in love with 'new' construction

Alberta is in a weird spot and often gets what they call 'Chinook' winds which can be so warm in the middle of winter that you are out and about with a sweater instead of the parka's and mittens.
