Ladies, do you change your purse and shoes to lighter colors for the spring and summer?

When I was growing up my Mom would always get out her white pocketbook and shoes for the spring and summer. When Labor Day rolled around it was back to the black. I still do that. My daughter thinks I'm crazy. She wears what she wants when she wants. I don't think I ever saw her with a light colored purse, always black. I guess I'm still back in the day. How about you?

I wear whatever I'm able to find. My dog likes to hide my shoes. She has a real thing for them. Sometimes she just goes nuts shaking them in front of me like " See what I'm doing to these shoes? I could do this to you ya know!" So.. I wear what shoes I can find.

I hate to change purses, so I rarely do it.
I don't think the young even match anything anymore. They don't match shoes & purses.. ( my daughters told me that)
I have never known anything about fashion.

Ruth you were lucky your mom only worried about spring colors..
My step mom was doing weird things to me way back when..
Once before Christmas break she put my hair in pigtails. Then she put one pigtail in a green bow and the other in a red bow. She made me wear a red shirt and green skirt. She made me wear one green sock and one red sock. A cheerleader saw me and said " Look at the Christmas tree!" I yelled " STFU bubble head!" It was VERY hard to intimidate her dressed that way .

I used to. Now I don't.

But I still don't wear white (trousers, shorts) before Memorial Day or after Labor Day (exception: Easter Sunday -- white shoes have always been OK for Easter Sunday). So I guess if I ever get to church again on Easter Sunday, in theory I could wear white shoes ...

I used to change stuff around, now I don't really bother. White shoes make my feet look big and clunky so I've never worn them in adult life, except for running shoes.

My mother used to be quite religious about changing at labor day, but I don't really see anybody doing it anymore.

I don't wear white pants or shorts, either. They seem to get instantly grungy.

I do change my bags and love to wear white in any season if the weather allows. I love black too and often wear it. Seasons don't matter. I wear what I want to.

Four pairs of shoes, four purses. Black and brown for winter, white and beige for summer. That's it for me.

No.

Don't do a purse, of course, but in a few weeks it's away with the tweeds and corduroy and out with the silk and linen jackets , same with shoes, away with the heavy dark leather and out with the light suedes and sandals.

I don't have a lot of purses but I like animals prints to the leopard print is usually my winter bag and then something more colorful for summer.

I'll look for purses in thrift shops. Shoes I don't worry about as I'm more concerned with support than looks when it comes to shoes.

I change the purse, just because it's fun. I like to get a summery looking one in summer fabrics, starting around May. For winter, I've been toting around the
same brown leather shoulder strap bag for several years now. I like it, and it still looks fine.

Shoes? Fashion? You've gotta be kidding. I wear whatever's comfortable.

Since 95% of my wardrobe consists of shorts, jeans and t-shirts, I have one purse. It's black and casual. When it wears out, I'll get another one. It'll probably be black, too. A fashion statement, I'm not. Just about everything goes with flip-flops.

Back in "the day", though, I wouldn't have stepped out the door without my purse and shoes coordinating.....I would never have carried a black purse with navy shoes - HORRORS!!! I can't believe how much importance I put on that and how much time I spent transferring everything from the brown purse to the black purse to the navy purse to the red purse to the tan purse.

I love being old. Nobody expects anything from me anymore except that I not be naked when I step out the door.

I only dress up for weddings and funerals these days.

However, relaxed and casual shopping wear for me is jacket and tie, fancy silk waistcoat and a tweed cap or other hat.

In the summer linen slacks and a smart cotton shirt.

Don't own any t-shirts, though I do have a couple of polo shirts, but I don't wear then beyond the front gate!

I dress up so rarely that I really enjoy it when I do. Weddings, funerals, going to a birthday party in a week.

I have been researching river cruises for next summer as my sister wants to do one. Some of the cruises have a formal night and both my husband and I refuse to do the suit and cocktail dress stuff. No way. I'll do nice casual, but that's it.

I'd gotten into the habit of using whatever purse I found most comfortable to carry, though it must have the right number of compartments and pockets. Once upon a time, I kept a big collection of handbags, but now I just use what my daughter gives me as a gift, or what she no longer uses .. like Coach, which I refuse to spend that much money on. I've gotten thrifty in my old age :p
