Nothing really drags down a good time to me like snobs. People who are full of themselves and like to insinuate everyone else is beneath their superior intelligence, etc. Gag.
There is this guy in the rotation of a cards group I play in. The players are mainly older retired people. He has a lot of education, but SO WHAT. He continuously interrupts people when they try to talk or share with snarky comments like " Boring..can we get back to cards without being bored to death?"
Most of these people are older and lonely & let's face it most of us don't have exciting stories about things we are doing in our current lives, we just like to connect with other people and have some company. I've seen the hurt look on the faces of the other players and genius that he thinks he is he has never learned manners or humility. I've always felt making fun of the intelligence of others in a group setting is the mark of a moron & I don't care how much schooling the moron has. He has interrupted cutting people off while telling stories I found interesting so many times. It's so rude of him to think that if HE finds something boring no one else matters. No manners. Anyway, this group has been my ONLY social activity with people around my age. I can't take him out of the rotation & I also can't stomach sitting at the table with him anymore. Man I can't stand snobs & people who worship their own intelligence.
So... canceling the card game this evening.
I guess I just wanted to whine about it.
