There are some things in life, you just can't forget. When I was in Nursing school, we had to spend a day at a free unwed pregnant clinic. I came from a town of about 40,000, so we might have some. I got there, and the place was packed with very pregnant women. Lots, and lots of women. I thought they would be twenty. There were hundreds. We had this form to fill out with the soon to be mothers. Due dates, that kind of thing. The last question was about their hopes. One of the almost mothers said, "I want to finish the 8th grade".
 

I lived in a small west Texas town and my new friend told me to be careful of the high school girls because there seemed to be an unwritten law that they have a kid for the monthly welfare check. Even better if they could wrangle a pregnancy from a guy with a job for an even bigger payout. Lived there for 10 years and sure enough, saw that warning come to fruition, not by me, mind you, but that friend who warned me ended up with a kid from an 18yr old..... he was 40..... his long range victory in the whole thing was child support, legal fees, and a daughter he never sees....idiots should not be allowed to breed...

So sad, such a shame. These women not only ruin their lives by not taking precautions, especially at such a young age, but the kids often aren't raised right either and follow in the footsteps of their mothers. I know some of them straighten up and fly right and take good care of their babies, but you hear so much of the opposite.
 
Surely, not in a Texas town, but a West Texas town? Was that before or after the advent of the pill? Well it doesn't matter. What's shocking is something like that could happen in west Texas.
 
Today, girls at risk, such as those with intellectual impairment, can have a long lasting contraceptive implant under the skin. For the rest, boys and girls alike, the answer is practical sex education and access to regular contraceptives. It also helps if the young women can see a career path ahead of them that will allow them to be self supporting.

And this type of living off of welfare was one of Pres Clinton best efforts. No more multiple generations living in govt housing, buying groceries with govt approved food stamps, no repetitions of their mistakes or get reduced benefits for this or that. Pretty smart system. But when Obama came on most of that stuff was tossed and our welfare seemed to grow faster again.

Going back to the Pres Clinton rules would sure be a step to lowering our debt load.

So a 40 year old dude is banging a teenager and it comes back to bite him in the ass and I'm supposed to what? Feel sorry for him?
