While totally shocked at what has occurred, the thought also occurred to me that this is one officer who might be thrown under the bus because he is Somali.
However, it looks like the Mayor at least is bending over backwards to respect his civil rights.

I checked out some of the Yahoo comments on the internet and it's really ironic to see how all the RWNJ's who invariably back the Police 100% in every shooting no matter what are now jumping all over this cop because he's a Muslim. The hypocrisy is stunning.

There's a video of their demonstration in the first link Wayne. You're right the news would be all over this and hysterical if it was a white cop but the hypocrisy of the silence and no outrage over this woman's murder don't surprise me. He had other charges against him from women and one is closed for public and it's too bad you have to go to UK news to even read these things if they know why haven't we heard anything on our news. I haven't anyway and there's some talk about them rushing him through the process to become a cop for their own reasons. White cops should never get away with killing anybody of any race for no reason and this one shouldn't get a pass either. I hope they get down to what really happened and tell the people the truth.

One of the things I don't get is the officer firing across or near his partner. That's reckless in itself. They also said the lights were off for a tactical arrival as not to be seen. And the firing officer already has his gun pulled on his lap. Yet the victim had already tried to talk to the driver who didn't pull his weapon.

I also saw that both officers only had three years experience between them.
 
Okay, it's true that there are a lot of good cops, but it's also true that a LOT of them should never have been accepted on the force.

Yes, they see horrible things on a daily basis and this will change their personality and their reactions, but if they can't handle the strain then they should resign.

"When seconds count, call the police ... they'll be there in minutes."
 
Around here, if they'd pay them a decent wage maybe they'd get more good cops. The police force here has a hard time finding people who want the job. I sure wouldn't want to put my life on the line every day for what they get paid.

Not just shootings but sometimes contact with police leads to things less 'merciful' than being shot & killed. California man receives severe burns after officer held his face on a 160 plus degree asphalt surface.

Being a police officer is a tough job because sometimes they have to watch out for three people at once especially when it comes to safety. They have to watch out for the victim, themselves and suspect. If they can't accept the responsibility for all three they should not be a cop. Sometimes there's more in the way of pedestrians, bystanders & witnesses.

There is something about the back of the police car being slapped and that's what the noise was all about according to the driver.

It's not clear whether the person walking up to the officer driving was the person doing the slapping.

She slapped the back of the car yet she wasn't shot with one bullet until she was at the driver's door. If Noor was that scared one might think he would've fired sooner at the back or rear driver door.
 
They'll make up some story and will eventually say the shooting was justified because the woman was wearing pajamas and that's frightening to officers or some such nonsense.
