What was the most important thing that happened?

I think the earliest would be President Kennedy assassination I was 10,also remember death of Bobby Kennedy that really effected me and i remember crying .
Death of Winston Churchill.
I think over my lifetime its mostly prominent people who died , and of course the walk on the Moon ,The Falkland War that was a worrying time .
 
There have been a lot of important things that happened in my lifetime . The Korean war,Viet Nam war,911.President Kennedy's death, Iraq, Moon Landing and many more things.
 

Yep we're all of an age where we witnessed a lot of important events but for me, if I was to choose one thing it would be the demolition of the Berlin wall.... I was there in Germany when it happened, it's something no-one could ever forget... to see the look of joy, excitement , deep emotion, and real disbelief, on people's faces... the hugging the crying, the hundreds of old eastern block cars queued up waiting to drive through... the crowds, the singing the people climbing on the wall... I'll never forget it if I live to be a thousand
 
For me, it was the birth of computers. I was working in an eye clinic in 1972. A doctor, there, had invented a computerized machine, which gave a person's eye glass prescription. He said he left part of the device's program blank. While it hadn't been invented yet, that was where computers would talk to one another. I knew the device was super cool, but come on, computers talking to one another. Why?? Geesh!
BTW, the decedents of that device are in every opthalmogist's office, today.
 
The technological revolution. Internet, personal computers, cell phones, etc.

Without that none of us would even know that each other existed.
 
The Korean war, it was still going on when I turned 18. The draft was still going on also. Korea in those days was a backwater place that many people could not find on a map. The notion of going there to be shot at had zero appeal. The notion of being in the Army anywhere had zero appeal. I did look good in my sailor suit.
