What news outlet do you think is the most fair and balanced?

I read Fox news but I also read CNN to figure out what is really happening. I always thought CNN was liberal but now I'm noticing a slight shift...maybe It's just me though.

What news agency do you watch or read or believe?

I also like reading the Drudge Report but Matt Drudge is slightly biased to the right.

Being assigned to Armed Forces News Service during the Vietnam War was a discouraging eye-opener in the manipulation of lies and propaganda.

Then, news became entertainment and all is lost. I read and listen to all of it and pretty much can only believe what's actually right in front of me . . .

I do like the pretty reporters on tv, though...

Hooray! I haven't seen it in a long time but there was The Naked News online with the reporters slowly disrobing while talking about . . . something or other . . .

I follow the Mulder rule. 'Trust nobody.'
I watch 'em all and believe none 100%
I like Al Jazeera's style but it's overly weighted to M.E. reporting for obvious reason. Still even that is interesting as little to no depth is given that fustercluck by the Western media. Complicated doesn't come close to describing what's going on there.

I seldom watch the commercial channels' News and have no preference for any of them. I get local events from radio through the day and watch more international news than local. Except when there's something big happening and they're running footage of 'disaster porn' of floods or fires or embarrassed pollies exiting brothels or somesuch.

I watch a little of Fox and MSNBC, just to hear what each are saying about things. Both of them are very biased, and report things in such a way to sway the listener's opinion. I don't trust any of the main stream media...they all have their own agendas, which do not include reporting events of any importance to Americans, or reporting anything with honesty. They are bought and sold. I'm open to any alternative news sources either on the radio or online, everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt.

I am too busy over here in the desert,
looking for 'weapons of mass destruction'...
to worry about if the news is telling me the truth.

After watching what has been going on in England with all the Phone tapping by Murdoch Press, would you trust anything that ALL news papers publish!
Probably all the news conglomerates have been doing the same thing at different times but haven't been caught yet.
I watch The ABC & other news reports to get a general idea of what's going on BUT, remembering that all news services have their own political agenda to push
down out throats!

Interesting question. I've given it some thought, and pretty much come up with "None of the above." They all confirm one set of biases or the other. So I mostly watch/read/listen to those who confirm my own biases.

CNN is pretty centrist, but they drone on and on. Being an all-news channel, I guess they have to. But they get tiresome.

I rarely watch the news, but when I do it's Steven Colbert.

I figure if anything earth shattering happens somebody on one of the forums I frequent will let us know. Now I mostly only come here, so please let me know if there is something I need to be aware of.
