Warrigal, maybe you should have titled the thread, Why some women are now speaking out about men's bad behavior in spite of those contrarians who never go away.

I do not know about Australia but here in America women are equal to men in every way. Actually, ever since the observance of EEO & Affirmative Action began, they have some advantage.

Australia has one of the most gendered work places on the planet.
The gender pay gap is not insignificant.

Industries like early education that are female dominated are less well paid than most male dominated industries. This has a lifetime effect on the amount of money women have to fund their retirements. Adding in the employment time lost in child bearing/rearing and also by early retirement to care for elderly family members, the result is that their superannuation accounts are a fraction of those accumulated by their partners.

What has been achieved is the way girls can now follow their own dreams should they want to. If they don't want to marry and have children, they can choose not to or to delay until they are ready.
