Oh boy...winter olympics!

Come on, guys. Enough is enough. This thread is supposed to be about the Winter Olympics. IMO this is not the place to have a childish peeing contest. Let people post about the thread. Please.
 
OK, I will bring it back to topic. Opening ceremonies start in 15 minutes. I love the Openings, and pictures I have seen indicate that this one will be the usual spectacle. I cannot wait.
 
Watching US in coming in now. The alphabet thing is confusing. We are with the M's because of Korean word for US starting with an M. I heard about the flag thing. Not sure how the countries pic flag bearer. But one of the countries who came in had a first time participant carry their flag.
 
Holly....your country coming in soon. Not sure if they did it there, but here, there is a ticker on the bottom of the screen showing the nations.
 
I'm watching CBC's{Canadian Broadcasting Company} coverage,theirs is much better than NBC . They show more variety of events,don't contstantly talk throughout the event like the announcers on NBC do,which I find annoying.
I look forward to the skiing,snowboarding,hockey events. Sue
 
The Parade of Nations in the opening ceremony showed a few countries with only one athlete participating in one event!

They can only hope to take home one medal.

The US and Canada have a great monopoly of athletes, which will yield the greatest number of medals.

My greatest respect goes to those athletes who win SILVER medals.
