Do you have Jehova's witnesses come to your door ?

I believe everyone has the right to their beliefs , but when you try and force yours on me ,is where I draw the line. We get them all summer long !
Maybe it's because I live on a main street , I don't know ....

Is there a way to get them to stop ? Being impolite doesn't seem to deter them ! They'll be here soon

I get them & others...I just say, thank you but no thank you, and close the door.

If I see them coming & I'm on the porch...I say it before they are half way down the driveway. They just turn around.

I've never heard of anyone trying to stop them from even soliciting , as I {THINK} their religious status enters into it ???

LOL...when I was younger, I had a smart-a$$ answer for them...

Do you really want a heathen like me in your church?...That worked...but I've mellowed.....:)

Probably? Maybe? People knock on my door but I do not answer unless I recognize them. I do not want door to door anything. Not religion, make-up or a survey.
I should put up a sign.:nodisturb:

Yes, oh my yes. They want to help me sort out the chaos in the world today, and the answer is always divine intervention. Once I just didn't go to the door and they went away but they always come back. I've tried agreeing with them, I've tried ambivalence, I've tried most everything but they still insist on bringing the copy of the Watchtower in person (sigh). Hare Krishna's eventually vacated the airports, maybe, nah, it's just wishful thinking on my part. Don...

When lived in the city I had some that came by quite often. Even though I'm an atheist we had some good discussions and became friends.

Since we moved here we only had one lady came by. She gave her talk and listened as I told her why I didn't believe. She was very nice but she never came back.

They come to our door occasionally. It I'm in the house I just don't answer the door. If they catch me outside I tell them I'm happy with my own beliefs and I don't accept the booklets they offer either.

Haven't seen any in decades, with the exception of about 15 yrs ago when I was waiting to take a bus downtown. I got out of my car at the Park & Ride, walked to the bus stop, when I was approached I didn't even acknowledge them. One had a child with her, but I don't care. Regardless of what religion you are I don't have to listen to you or explain myself.

Everyone has the right to be left alone! GO AWAY.

Yes, they ring my doorbell from time to time, just had them come a couple of weekends ago. To save their time and mine, I now just say 'I'm not interested, have a good day'.

Yes, and I am always polite and ask them in, but I tell them that if they read from their bible, I will insist on the same courtesy, and so I read from mine, which is the New King James version.

Most of the time we can't get very far because we have a disagreement on who Jesus is.

I will not go into much detail here, but in the Mormon bible we see: (John 1:1) "....the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God….

I believe that is an incorrect translation, but to prove it would take too much space here.

Jehovah' Witnesses also use an incorrect translation in my view, and it renders the same verse as: "....and the Word was a God..." (from the New World Translation)

The correct rendering of the verse is "...and the Word was God." (from King James Bible)

I have many other problems with the Mormons, but I'll leave it at that.

I haven't had any come to my door in ages but whenever I go to the public library there are usually two of them sitting outside of it with materials. I have never seen any of them stop people to talk to them or bother anyone at all. They just sit there with their materials ready if anyone is interested. I usually just nod my head at them and say "hi" and they smile at me and say "hi" back.

I have been posting at various forums for at least 20 years . At one time or another ,Jehovahs Witnesses have been mentioned .... or put down. I've never once seen anyone defending them ! That tells me something.

I don't think they're any worse - or better - than any other religious order.

It's because they have a mandate to "spread the word" that I think annoys people.

The ones I've invited into my home and spoke with have been polite, not pushy, and they got the message early on that I wasn't a potential convert, but they kept coming back just to talk.
