What do you think? Good, bad or doesn't matter. It still won't help the color blind. Personally, I think it's a clever idea.

In the mid 30s, my father had the same idea, but it was a clock face with one hand going around

to show how much time you had before the green light changed to RED.

Ergo: No need for an amber light.

I get the feeling that drivers are going to be so focused on the light itself that they won't be paying attention to traffic or pedestrians.

Those idiots (and there seem to be more and more by the second) who just run the lights ain't gonna care.

I think people would misjudge the amounts and get confused, I know I would. When it looks like a cocktail glass, they would definitely be distracted.

I feel it's a backward step, we had a dial type similar to how that works back in the 1940's to 1970's see below i liked them as you could see how much time you had easily.

The hourglass traffic lights look complex, distracting and confusing.
What's in use now works fine. And you know what they say... if it's not broke, don't fix it.
The drivers who run lights would also run the hourglass light too.
Bad idea and I bet it's costly too.

Some of the concept bikes I've seen are truly insane - like this one, they look like they wouldn't be functional enough or comfortable enough to go one block.
