Is Everyone Afraid?

I'm not afraid; I'm just sick of it. Is anyone, no matter how cogent they think their argument is, going to change my mind? No. Am I going to change theirs? Again, no. So why bother? I'm tired of hearing about it, day in, day out. Discussing it, ad nauseum. Not afraid, just tired.

Gotta say, on this I agree...regarding so many of the current issues.

I figure I'm 69, there is not much any administration can do to upset my life / hurt me, in the time I likely have left. Possible that I can cause more self harm worrying / arguing about it?

But the right~V~left .... left~v~right, my dog's bigger 'n your dog, on & on just is not good for the country period! I don't care who thinks they're right....

As I have said before, the country , indeed the world....is now the issue of the young'ins . Let them have it their way....I wish them well with it.
 

Hey! I'm 70 and I still aim to have a lot of living left in me. No way am I going to give up and leave it up to the young'ins. I'll have a lot of time to do that when I'm worm food. :D
 
G'day Lon, apparently your posts are repetitive and boring - obviously that's why this thread has gone out to two pages, so far. LOL

For the record my view is the same as rgp, who said it as well, if not better, than I could.

Mate you are not Robinson Crusoe, I would hazard a guess there are quite a few of us here who feel the same way. Some have already moved on to greener pastures, some like me, continue to pop in from time to time but don't participate as much as they once did. That's the way these things go. Would it be different if the political subjects were reintroduced? Probably not.

Yes I agree. He enjoys political debates which he knows aren’t allowed here but are on other sites yet keeps coming back here to whine about it and we all respond like we normally do.

Its certainly getting predictable.
Maybe he knows some rabbit tricks to ‘entertain US?’

To answer your question directly, no I'm not "afraid" to discuss politics, but I am respectful of the guidelines that the forum moderators have laid down. We are able to interact with each other due to their creation of this private vehicle and I show my gratitude by playing by their rules.

If people want to immerse myself with politics all we have to do is tune into CNN for 30 minutes and FOX for another 30. Their talking heads and panelists will gladly beat every issue to death for us and rev our blood pressure up in the process.

p.s. Sometimes I want to interact on a calmer, more civilized plane. However, if I want to stir things up, I don't need to get political. A simple post lauding a highly talented tattoo artist on a thread where ClassicRockr is active will do it! (Said with affection, CR!)
