11 Dead, Several Others Shot At Pittsburgh Synagogue

Tragic. My condolences to the families of the victims.

We live a few miles from Pittsburgh and have it for our local news. I watched it the biggest part of the day, and they are calling it a pure Hate Crime. Just another senseless killing. He wasn't known to the local police. My heart goes out to the families and friends. It would be bad enough to lose a loved one that way but in a place of worship
just seems to make it 10 times worse.

A nice neighborhood, good people innocently welcoming a new baby (with a baby-naming ceremony) into the synagogue and then attacked only because of their faith. Senseless. Sad beyond words.

I'll being saying prayers for all the victims in this senseless tragedy

Makes you wonder if man is on the verge of wiping himself off the face of the earth. The direction the world is going it seems very likely. Every day someone somewhere or other produces a bigger more deadly weapon and one day someone is going to press the wrong button.

His weapons, including the assault rifle, were bought legally. I hate to jump into the gun debate again, but good God. What will it take for some common sense to prevail?

Truthfully, I'm amazed that not one soul has mentioned the nutcase that mailed out a dozen or so pipe bombs around the country. The FBI stated that they weren't fakes but the real thing. Do we wait for a few of such devices to explode and blow someone away before even making mention of them.

And please, don't speak foolishness about the political aspect. That's immaterial in the big picture. Mailing bombs anywhere to anyone should be enough to make us shudder at the thought. The fact that no one is aware or gives a s--t is a shock to me!!!

As to the shooting topic, it's horrible and shows the same level of insanity that seems to be gripping the country lately. In my relatively long life, I've never seen this degree of hatred that embraces the country today.

I wanted to discuss the pipe bombs Dave as I'm sure others, yourself included, also did but were reluctant to start a political slug-fest here.

I agree with you; it's news, a danger worthy of discussion but some people don't seem to get it; that when a persons insults another person's candidate of choice, they are in effect insulting that person.

Since this discussion is going off topic, why not start a topic on the pipe bombs?

Condolences to family and community.

Pardon but what a chicken poop to shoot unarmed people, many seniors. I still don't get the terrorist mindset: kill innocent people further your cause??? What a pathetic loser and pos coward. He is a killer/murder, not a shooter, revolutionary or martyr. He is a loser coward CRIMINAL pure and simple.

I hope prosecutors don't over charge simply going for premeditated murder and death penalty. Don't give this freak a forum for his opinions. Prove planning and murder. Make it quick and let the endless appeals start. Don't spin, make political points, grand stand etc. Prove murder and strive for the death penalty. I'm hearing debates should he be charged with a hate crime or terrorism well it's neither-it's premeditated murder. He is a criminal, not a martyr or activist.

Spent part of this morning with Syrian refugees, Christian support system, and Jewish sponsors, fashioning condolence cards etc for those affected by the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting. So important we stand together. Not a dry eye in the house. Even little children contributed.

Without a doubt way too political. And just me saying that these were two home-grown nutcases would probably be too controversial, so I won't.
