How is your day Today, plans and achievements 2024....

Winter again here. Only about 4 deg C. Fortunately the storms that damaged our polytunnel have gone, so yesterday. I managed to re-attach the cover. I made some aluminium brackets to secure the bits that hold the cover in place and fitted them. Hopefully that will work if another storm comes along. My daughter who lives in Manchester said that it had been very stormy there too.

Not doing much today. My left foot is sore which I suspect was caused by balancing on a ladder while fixing the polytunnel. The weather is depressing us. We've had very few good days this year and there is still a lot of preparation needed in the garden.

A bright sunny day, presently 35.

Hubby & helper are in the wood pile splitting wood.

I hope to try the new vacuum upstairs sometime today.

Mac is trying find a sunny spot to sleep in.
Noticed that Mac's body is looking more adult sized.

Will try to get a good standing picture of him.

I'm home and thank goodness! My bed is against a wall so there's only one side to get out of it. Today that side was the wrong side because when I got up, I was already armed for bear! The closer it got to quitting time, though, the more my attitude improved. Funny how that works.

It's colder than the b*lls on a brass monkey. Windy and 49 with a feels-like temp of 40. Brrrr. Doesn't look like any mulch will be spread again today. Supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow but be 72 and sunny on Wednesday, when I'm off and sort of sunny and 70 on Thursday, when I'm off again. Mulch will be spread, right?

Well I got up this morning with all good intentions of going out to have my nails done and drop off some donations to the charity shop.. and it's so overcast I just couldn't get up the enthusiasm.. however good thing I went out to the recycle bin which is hidden from view of the back and front door.. and runs up the side of my house... because the postman ( Royal Mail) had thrown a big parcel from Amazon..over my gate.

One they are supposed to leave a red card in the letter box to tell us when they've delivered something and left it on another part of the property, and 2.. that parcel wasn't supposed to be arriving until Wednesday so I wasn't expecting it today, and if I hadn't gone around there this morning, it would have stayed there all night..
Fortunately there was only the garden chair cushions in it.. so nothing was damaged..

The kids are off school from Wednesday or Thursday this week for Easter break ... so I want to go and get my nails done before then.. before everywhere gets packed with people and their children..

Saying hello to all of you. :)

Yesterday, I finally finished a bunch of confusing paperwork, that I've been working on, off and on for about 2 weeks. In short sessions that each left me with woozy brain syndrome.o_Oo_Oo_O

So today I've looked at it, one last time, checking details, and sent it on its way. Now, I can proceed with worrying about what might result from it.:confused:

Well, I will try not to clutter myself with the extra worries.

I'm managing to cope with my medical issues and husbands.
That's another daily (and nightly) challenge as well, along with the worries.

I've tended my old, dear cat's ears and paws, and claws.

The big wintery storm, that was in the news the past few days, did hit my area pretty hard, with lots of ice on tree branches, causing many to break, and power outages.
I (and kitty) heard a major bang that alarmed us, I guess a transformer burst, and a closeby old tree, crashed to the ground.

I love trees and will miss it. I've been looking at it out my window, for years, enjoying how it is in every season.
I (and kitty) will also not enjoy the sharp sounds of the electric saws, when workers come, at some unknown time. Probably when I (and kitty) are having a nap. ...:(
According to Murphy's Law of Fallen tree removals and Naptimes.
:sneaky:;):giggle:

Meanwhile we are watching wild birds at 2 feeders.

I hope to read up on a few posts, today too.
Take care, each of you!

Wow,, I've been moving from one chore to another this morning.

Grabbed some old turkey meat out of freezer, pot of it with veggies is cooking for Mac's dog food.
When its cool & meat is off the turkey leg,, will divide into freezer containers for his meals.

I got this idea when I checked the freezers & saw a lot old venison, wild turkey.
Am I saving any money doing this ?

I think Mac looks pretty healthy & has muscles. 🥰

I dusted the bedrooms and bathrooms thoroughly this morning. After lunch I'll go back and vacuum.
I have some impatiens to plant in my large bricked- in planter in front.
I have pots raised up on cinder blocks so they are visible. I put the impatiens in the ground at the bottom. They'll come up and fill in around the pots.
I planted different hostas in the pots this year so they'll come up every year with no need to replant. I did two pots with Red caladium for color.
I'll post pictures when it all gets going.
Stir fry for lunch with the last leftover chicken breast.

Good afternoon all folks......only thing i've done today is feed

Hubby has made the yard out front of this window into a Muddy mess driving ATV across it!

So at lunch I'm hearing car doors slamming??

Look out the window & there is my nieces' car stuck in the lawn. $#@###

Go out before hubby gets a chance at the nephew,,,, give him what for about getting stuck in the lawn.:cautious:

Tell our helper to get out the ATV to pull the V W out.

By then hubby is getting his coat on to tell them how to do it.

At east there was somewhere to hook the winch cable to.

No one was hurt during the winching out.
Poor niece had lots of guys telling her what to do as she was the driver.

Next person that gets stuck in the lawn is getting a picture taken.🙃
I have 2 pictures of folks stuck in that area,, both were taken during a snowy winter.

Got up ,,cooked breakfast for my wife , took the trash out to the curb, took my walk, went to the coffee shop this morning, talk to this 22 year old , she told me she wanted to England next year, ( reminded me of my grandaughter) Told her about my wanting to get my Book made into a movie, just a dream of mine, had it at a screen writters, have not heard back, our trip to American Idol, about being on the site Of CBS's Jerico, about the private consert with sick puppies , about all I did today , so far.

I appreciate my part time job but the 2.5 h drive is getting a bit much. I come home, unpack, and immediately crash for about 3 hours (napping). I dislike the disoriented way I feel... I spend the rest of the day wandering around, saying witty things like "Duuuuhhhh" and generally unable to settle to anything very complicated. Ah well, tomorrow will be a better day!

Busy day prepping dinner for DSS & his wife. I made their favourite meal. They’re here for 3 nights. Ran around doing laundry and getting packed for my trip on Thursday to see my DDs and their families. I travel with carryon only. This time I’m take a checked suitcase to give them some of things that they want. It’s getting really heavy.

I did get out of bed today and that's a good thing. I had some kind of stomach bug that hit me Friday night. I was in bed for almost 40 hours straight except to hit the toilet. In 50 hours I have had 4 peanut butter pretzel bites, 4 saltine crackers, and one slice of pizza today. I should have skipped the pizza, but it was for my youngest son's birthday and I was pretty hungry. Now I cannot fall asleep and want to.

Neighbor woke me up again this morning. He was talking loudly in the structure in the back yard he just repaired. It was exactly at 10:30 am that he was talking loudly. I have my suspicions about what's going on there.

Happily, I was able to get back to sleep. I slept for a total of 9 1/2 hours. I needed the sleep after the stress from yesterday.

I opened my Lay's kettle cooked jalapeno potato chips last night as a reward for getting through the day. It was good. Very spicy, which I like.
