You are absolutely correct! I never thought this would happen here and it’s heartbreaking. I hope we all survive this. The world has gone mad. The US is no longer an ally to the West. Trust has been fractured. If MAGA means anything, then Americans should rejoice. In the wider picture, a lot of damage is being done, and decades of diplomacy is being torn asunder.
In Iran, at the time of writing, more than 700 civilians have been killed on this operation. It has cost the US tax payer $31bn thus far. So, in (very) rough terms, $44m for every death.
The rest of the world does, indeed, need to start paying for its only defense. At the same time, sadly, the US needs to be considered as just another self-interested adversary.
My son was having a chuckle watching footage off incoming missiles in Bahrein. About 80% of the Bahrein population is Shia and the royal family are Sunni's, so crowds were cheering the incoming missiles. Maybe they do like Iran more than their royal family.Nobody likes Iran.
Their goal is to killl the West, said an Iranian woman in Holland. As a kid she had to walk over all the flags in school and speak death to all countries.Something to consider...
Yes, Iran's military capability is certainly inferior to that of the US and Israel, but suppose their ultimate goal is not to take lives but to take the global economy down? It is certainly being affected. Foreign markets are even more heavily damaged than the US at the present time. If that is their goal, they are achieving it. That is not a "win" for us in this war.

From your lips to God's ears. I'll check back over the weekend. What we are seeing now is mostly the fear of what "if" It is too soon for it to really affect anything. Some price gouging.
Mark my words by this Saturday we will be seeing a lot less missiles and drones launched out of Iran. By that time they will mostly be hiding underground.
It is possible that we will shake things up with the MOAB's....25,000 lbs bombs and some bunker busters. If the people start sending us Lats and Longs on some targets we will be able to knock them out too. By next Saturday we should see them surrender officially.
From there moping things up and getting oil shipments will take a little while. Setting up the new government will be the time-consuming part.

You should not forget the insane fanatism of these people. They'd rather die than to choose a better life. What we are seeing now is mostly the fear of what "if" It is too soon for it to really affect anything. Some price gouging.

I'm not sure that a forced change of the leadership would change the attitude of the country as a whole. Do those who want freedom want to work together and cooperate with non Muslim countries? Or do they still want to create a Muslim world through intimidation? The majority of the populace wants this radical cult out of their country. The massive crowds in the streets continued to grow until the regime machine gunned down about 40,000 unarmed civilians in the streets.
It appears to me that (some, many, …) men can’t be peaceful. What would the world be like if women ran the countries?!!It's very sad that people can't be peaceful![]()
Then the least peaceful woman would dominate all the others. Just kidding. It appears to me that (some, many, …) men can’t be peaceful. What would the world be like if women ran the countries?!!

Now that is an impressive blend of stereotyping and bigotry.I know all about these people.....I have been fully briefed on these people.....kill their wives and have sex with their sons. No respect for life.....72 virgins to have sex with but do not have to feed or cloth.
You cannot negotiate with these people.....their word means nothing. But they are cowards.....feed a few to the dogs and burn the rest and they will fall in line.

I think what you are saying is you recognize what has been in the media for a few decades. Toss in the thousands that were recently murdered by the now dead religious leader. I agree with what you perceive to be true.Thank you. It is part of their culture and religion. A different set of values.
The Iranian regime was evil

I beg to differ...we had the iron lady Margaret Thatcher running our country for 10 years straight, there was no wine and chocolate from her believe me...I fear there would be constant discussions about feelings, pie recipes, and what Sally said yesterday to Sue.
I would be all in buying wine and chocolate stocks.
