1960's America in colour pictures.. did you live in any of these places ?

The only place I know from that era was Times Sq in NYC ~ known as a very sinful place back in the day. I only remember passing by Atlantic City. Travelled to Chicago several times but that was in the late 1980s and early 90s.

I had one of those '63 split window Corvettes. A red one. Bought it from a friend who had to head for Vietnam and his wife wanted a larger car. This was in '65 and I kept it 'til 1977, including an engine rebuild in '72. The most enjoyable car that I ever had. Sold it for a bit more than twice what I paid for it. That was a god deal then but I wish I'd kept it. That was the only split window model and it's value went out of sight.

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.

We lived in Panama City, Florida, Long Beach, California and then back to Hawaii during the 60's.
Many trips around Florida, mostly to visit my Grandparents who lived outside Orlando.

Remember driving on the beach at Daytona, boys hanging out the windows screaming for our dad
to DRIVE FASTER!

I remember my hubby to be telling me about Daytona beach and how you could drive right on the beach. One weekend he took me there and we parked and spread out our blanket.
A few minutes later cars drove up and our blanket was sandwiched between them on all sides. All I smelled was gas fumes from the tail pipes and music blaring from each car.
I was not impressed.
