Intensifying cold core low pressure is just off our coast. I'm near San Jose. Supposed to become windier with 40 mph gusts. Most of precipitation to south in Southern California. Flooding will be making national news by tonight. Especially reborn Lake Tulare. Will be having one of the best wildflower springs in my lifetime I'll soon within weeks switch from snow skiing at Tahoe to carrying a tripod in places like Carrizo Plain National Monument and Antelope Valley California Poppy State Reserve Park.

The wildflowers are gorgeous right now, David! Blooming like crazy!

We are now well above the snowpack record for this date, and not much below the all time record. And still have time for more, snowpack usually peaks in early April and then begins to melt, but some years its not till May. Lots of flooding coming...

We have just equaled the all time greatest snowpack, three weeks earlier than the previous record. We will likely get more. Guess we got more than we wished for... There will be flooding when this melts!
