2023 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

After a little tiny touch of spring fever with temps in the 70s last week, we're sitting here expecting an ice storm tomorrow. I got errands done today so we'll be sitting tight through the bad weather and hopefully will soon be able to put the shovels away until November. ❄️

We've had precipitation in one form or another for 5 days straight. The rain and snow didn't last all day however. It rained in the middle of the night then was sunny by early afternoon. It's supposed to rain again tomorrow and Saturday! The high today was 54 (real feel 56).

A few States to the North of you, toward Canada, @OneEyedDiva
we got a mixture of snowflakes and rain, today, mostly large flat, fluffy flakes that melted quickly, and made our previous snowcover shrink, instead of grow taller. :sneaky: :giggle:

That next rain you are going to get on Friday and Saturday, will be a huge snow event, here.

I decided this post of mine, would be a comparative weather report, instead of a singular one! :geek::giggle::LOL::ROFLMAO:

Do you have everything you need in the house Kaila? How huge?

Well, the storm is almost here. I took the dogs out for a last potty break. They are now getting upset as the wind gets going. We are looking at 60 to 80 miles a hour with the rain, hail and possible tornados. Hope we don't lose power, that makes me crazy. I do have flash lights if needed. I did have the fleeting thought if we had a tornado, I will not have to clean the house this weekend LOL!

The power has gone out twice but came right back, so far so good. If I lose the TV, I can still power up the computer with the portable battery I have. I can watch Prime.

Thank you for asking.
I do have what I need, that I can possibly have.
What concerns me is the very possible power outages, which are very difficult for me to deal with. I just have to hope we don't get one, or that it is very short, if we do.

@Blessed wrote about being her main concern as well.
We will be thinking of you, too!

How huge? Blizzard conditions, with the combination of about a foot of wet, heavy type of snowfall, and strong winds and cold.

When/if the power is out, I can't get any internet connection at all, because the modem needs electricity.
Wireless doesn't work well, here, so no phone with internet, either. And brrrr (no back-up heat).... but the storm doesn't get big here, till Saturday.

Thinking of you, @Blessed !

Snowing... We already have a snowpack well above average, if this keeps up we could end up with a record. On average the snow continues to accumulate until early April, so we have at least another month to go.

Even if it stopped snowing right now this is enough to cause some flooding when it melts. If we get much more we could well go from the worst drought in 500 years to the worst flood... Bad news is that even though this will help even a record snowpack would not end the drought, only make it better. We would need several years of this to really break the drought and refill all our reservoirs...
