2023 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

We're supposedly in for a big snowfall overnight, which should impact driving over the weekend. We shall see .. they're not always spot-on with the forecast.

We were out today, so we won't go stir-crazy if we're snowbound for a couple of days. I love watching the
snow falling.

Thank you for asking. :love:
I do have what I need, that I can possibly have.
What concerns me is the very possible power outages, which are very difficult for me to deal with. I just have to hope we don't get one, or that it is very short, if we do.

@Blessed wrote about being her main concern as well.
We will be thinking of you, too!

How huge? Blizzard conditions, with the combination of about a foot of wet, heavy type of snowfall, and strong winds and cold.:confused:
I pray that you and @Blessed (or any of our members) don't experience black outs. I went through one that lasted 5 days due to Superstorm Sandy and it was no fun. Thank God I was able stay with my son and DIL after two days when I could take no more (it was a cold October). I had lanterns, candles and even a way to heat food but it was a major inconvenience. My husband was renting a storage unit in someone's garage in which he had a freezer. That neighborhood had power so we didn't lose all of our frozen food but we did lose some items that required refrigeration. I'm glad you have what you need...hope it doesn't go to waste due to an outage.

@Alligatorob What's it looking like now where you are? Sure hope you don't get flooded out!

Thank you, @OneEyedDiva
I do remember that particular storm, you wrote about, and how terrible it was for your area. And the long aftermath problems so many people had from it, too.
We have had some doozies, hereabouts, as well, in past years.
There's Not been as many long power outages in my area, recently.

So far today, it's snowing and blowing, and still cranking up for more;
But I have power/ heat/ stove and frig/ and internet!
Whew!

More is coming today, but so far, it's not terrible, and will probably be okay.
Thanks, to all, who are thinking of me.
And I have been thinking of others, as well....
including @caroln and @Blessed and @Georgiagranny and others on this thread.

About 6 inches of heavy wet snow overnight. Spent about 45 minutes shoveling the driveway and decided to let nature do the rest since it it on the mild side. A lot has melted even though it continued to snow lightly for another 2 hours after I shoveled. I like the plastic shovel for the wet snow. A lot stuck to the trees. I could post photos, but it looks like the same thing we got a few weeks ago.

Road up to the mammoth Mountain Canyon base at 7900 feet:

Below an Instagram video in the town of Mammoth Lakes California along an entrance pathway to a dwelling entrance, where the ski resort has recorded over 600 inches ( 50 feet) of snow this winter.

After the big snowstorm:

Today, it is clear and sunny and peaceful;
with milder temps causing clumps of snow to fall off of the tree branches, and the snowpack to melt and shrink.

Beautiful blue sky.

After a nice sunny day, the sun has just about set, and it's 52°.
