2023 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

Anyone here remembers the really brutal winters that New York State had during their childhood in the 1950's? I know that global warming is a serious issue, but the good side of it, is that the winters here are much more milder. I realize global warming may affect other states, provinces, & countries in a different way. Yes there is an occasional snowstorm. But with all of the snowless days in October, November, December, & even some in January & February, there is a lot less total snowfall for the year. Being that I am in my 70's, I am truly grateful for that.

Same here in CT

The wind blew my little star off the top of my Alberta pine shrub. It rained all day. But yes, thank the good Dog it was warm.

MetOffice just last week had predicted a white Christmas. However, earlier today, the announcer said that if only one flake falls it'll be viewed as one 🤣🤣🤣 Typical...

Currently, it's downpour after another but it isn't as cold so can't complain.
 
There was 2.7 inches (7 cm) of rain in my gauge. I've heard that 1 inch of rain equals 10 inches of snow on average. If it was colder, we would have received around 27 inches! The fire department was called to do 2 pump-outs just on my street. Fortunately, my cellar wasn't affected.

The storm system that battered the entire eastern seaboard and Atlantic Canada seems to be part of the biggest weather system I've ever seen. There a cyclonic system the consumes most of the norther Atlantic Ocean and the storms seem to be mostly along the western edge of it. I say cyclonic because the winds ware rotating clockwise whereas with a hurricane they rotate count clockwise.
Here's a screen shot of the system - the white lines or dashes are animated on the live site and the whole thing is spinning clockwise.

The nasty storms are not gone but have just moved eastward; offshore. They still stretch from Atlantic Canada to the southern Caribbean. This weather system that's covering the Atlantic Ocean has been like that for a good week now and hasn't changed much. Hopefully the western edge where all the storms are stays out in the ocean and doesn't move back westward again.
