After the the "Polar Vortex" put us in a terrible dangerous deep freeze, now we are going the other way. It already has started to get a bit warmer, still below 0C. But it is going to get warmer every day. Starting Saturday its supposed to be +2 C and all the way up to +6C for the next 2 weeks!!! ?From one extreme to the other.
I don't like it when it gets above 0C in Winter, then we get fog and the roads get icy.

Well the forecaster lied when they said that we in the SE will be the only ones in the country without storm Jocelyn tonight..... it's hammering down of rain, and the wind if anything is worse than 2 nights ago with storm Ishi on Sunday/Monday... we've now got a Tornado warning

It's windy here too. The direction must have changed because we could hear it at the front of the house. Judging by the way the trees are being blown, the wind is stronger than previous storms. I really want to be doing some work outside, but not in this weather.

It's just getting light now. I'll check for any damage after breakfast.

No obvious damage due to the storm, A few small branches off the trees but that's all. Hopefully the wind will ease over the day.
If we can't work outside, I guess it will be housework.

me too, I've got a blinding headache due to the lack of sleep.

About 2 inches of heavy, wet snow overnight with a thin crust of ice on top. I'd rather shovel 6 inches of dry powder than 2 inches of this. It's right at the freezing point, so more precip could go either way. We are under a winter weather advisory.

What little snow we had was gone yesterday. High for today & tomorrow be 50*F with rain. It's a cold rain.

38 degrees here in Southern Tier NYS, getting up to 45 maybe, and there has been a deep fog, before noon, yesterday and today- no visibility beyond about 300-400 feet on my hill. By time I get down to the highway later, hopefully the fog will be gone.
Yesterday a local weather TV guy said Fog and clouds are the same thing----but that is not a fact:

"Clouds and fog both form when water vapor condenses or freezes to form tiny droplets or crystals in the air, but clouds can form at many different altitudes while fog only forms near the ground."

I am addicted to the weather every day because it controls what I do or can't do.
A low cloud over me ,in my high altitude ,can completely stop my satelitte internet signal.

And the temps from a local weather station about 1,000 below me, are always between 6-8 degrees difference.
I like being in a cloud. It reminds me of some deep clouds I was in, for a while, in a small 21 seater prop lane,- destination, Logan Airport, which only had light rain.

Cloudy, drizzle, barely above freezing. We haven't seen the sun in over a week. Hopefully, we will get some dry and sunny weather next week.

We were very fortunate this winter in Dallas. We only had 3 days of sub-freezing temps and no ice. Just a light dusting of snow that went away the next day. We are now cloudy and rainy for the next few days, then sunny and high 50's well into February. I'll take it. I still remember February 2021 when we were under ice for 5 days and over 240 people died.

Ask me in July.
