2024 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

Today, Monday, our temps are about 10 now (6:40 AM) but they except temps this afternoon to hit the mid 30s and even up to 50 degrees later in the week.

It was so cold yesterday ( wind chill minus 4) when I cleaned snow off my car, that, after I used a de-icer, and turned on the wipers ( they still had some snow on them), and the windshield was streaked with ice again. Not much, but enough for more de-icer. But I was glad to get out and about.

As expected, January has been a nasty month. Today we are having freezing rain, and the roads are slick....lots of reports of wrecks on the morning news. Hopefully, we will see improving conditions in February.

We've reached 21 F with a half to an inch of snow coming, then freezing rain. I don't expect much though, but even so I put the windshield cover on the car. It saves on scraping and is easier than fighting with a whole-car cover in the wind out there.

  • Feels Like48°
  • WindSE 3 mph
  • Humidity93% <----- really rare but then again it is mid winter.
Watched the news this a/m before going for morning walk. Cold, ice, snow sub freezing temps other places.
At 7: 15 Suddenly weather here seems great.

Look at this for an amazing photo...taken yesterday during the storm...off the coast of Cork , Ireland

is it common in England ?...ermm I don't know..tbh I know my next door neighbour and the neighbours opposite have their window open most days too.. but not sure generally if people do it..
It’s interesting how people in different countries do things. I think it’s Finland where people put their babies outside in a stroller for a nap in winter.

we used to do the same thing... not for long, just wrap them up well and let them go outside (in the garden) in their prams..

...and let them breath cool air for 15 minutes.. it apparently did them the power of good, . that was years ago , now mothers wouldn't dream of doing it..

That is our same prediction too, here in the southern tier of NY.
I am staying home today-I fell asleep last night at about 8 PM, left lights and TV on, and woke up at 4 AM but managed to sleep a little longer. The weather at 4 AM predicted some sleet, but maybe not.

I need to get my mail and put my garbage into the bin by the road, when it gets lighter out, and then tackle the "to do" list.
Dont know what's for dinner yet-I still have some nice Spanish rice from Sunday, with some pork in it and got a nice green avocado yesterday. The green ones seem to last longer for me, then Haas avocados.

I think you should open windows at least once in a while in winter to get some fresh air throughout.
