Thanks for the stats. But, your location that you give for yourself means you are where? Russia? Saudi Arabia, Australia, ......? The stats then really don't mean much. Truly you could be anywhere in the 'inner regions'.

Wet. And, getting wetter. In the past 24 hours we've had more rain than we get for all of February and March, typically. It has become so wet that the moisture has soaked through the exterior walls and have shorted out my land line phone's wiring. The internet provider showed me how to bypass the short and hook the phone into the internet cable servicing my house. Glad they are there for me. I am hoping the rain won't short out the electrical wiring. Our homes just aren't built for this much rain nor for any sort of snow (which we've never gotten where I live). More rain today. A break on Wednesday. Then more rain Friday into Saturday. And, more rain predicted the middle of next week.

My next door neighbor has threatened to shoot me if I ever mention 'climate change' to him. I think he will be singing a different tune, soon. But, I won't mention it.:D
Gosh Wes, I hope you're not in one of those homes on the hillside, with the mountains crumbling, causing the mudslides on to the highway. Those built on stilts seem to get hit pretty hard. I'd be freaking out a little.

Yep; better safe than sorry. 😛

"Our homes just aren't built for this much rain"

The whole of So-Cal isn't built for it, right? There aren't enough runoffs for all that water.

I read that the city sent earth-moving equipment to the beaches last fall (?), to scoop out paths in the sand so water could runoff into the ocean.

Last night, winds in the Sacramento Valley got as high as 65 to 70 mph. Rare, but not a first.

About 200,000 homes were without power last night, down to about 45,000 this morning.

Sac Utilities, the fire dept and city works removed over a dozen large fallen trees during the night and early this morning.

Winds are relatively calm now, and the sun is peeking through scattered grey clouds.

There was a thick fog when I woke up this morning. Most of it has dissipated. I guess we won't be having the clear blue skies we've had over the past few days. It's 0C at this time.

I saw some robins in my backyard on Monday. Maybe the groundhog was right.

we have Robins all year round.... they fly around looking for worms whenever I'm working in the garden..they'll often land on the spade handle or whatever is there, like here on my Safety helmet and the trug...
