Still in a dry pattern. Sunny with intermittent cumulus clouds here and there. Seasonable temp. The main issue today is the wind. There's a burn ban in effect here because of the dry and windy conditions.
We're up in the mountains right now where it feels pretty chilly at about 60-F.
It's supposed to warm up a bit in a couple hours, and we'll take a little hike then.
I had to build a fire last night and this morning...so glad I ordered the wood a few weeks ago. We have plenty for the weekend, but my neighbors came over to say hello, and Craig said his grandson will chop some of his logs up and bring me a bundle whenever I need it.

It's raining and we've been warned about a flash flood. The report was on my television which had to have reverberated throughout the entire neighborhood. I feel sorry for those wearing hearing aids.
We have been getting very hard rain for about 40 mins now, some lightning, very windy, kansas had tornado warnings, we
are under tornado watch...woweeeeee/////73 deg F now....
My area is in a Level II drought. It’s been pretty rough on the farmers. Some of the beef catttle folks are reducing herds because hay production is down.
Tonight we are supposed to see our first appreciable rain, since we caught the outer edge of Hurricane Helene. It won’t be enough to help the farmers but it may be enough that I end up having to mow again.
We finally got a nice 1/2" of rain last night....after a month with none. The forecast is calling for as much as 5 inches over the weekend and into early next week. It seems that more and more we go from periods of drought to almost flood stage.
Will be outdoors this pm to two outdoor Halloween street events. A cold front with minor rain passed early this am leaving cool partly cloudy conditions. Temps will be high 50Fs to low 60Fs so will dress warmly.
