Friday 5:00 AM saw a temp of 19(F) with a feels like of 9(F). Night temps should be just above freezing.

One of the horses four water tubs is not heated. It had nearly 3 inches of ice. I didn’thave the iron mallet because I didn’t think I would need it. I was lucky I didn’t bend my cane😱🤯

We will be in the low 60’s (F) early this coming week. Anyone who has had horses knows these wide temperature swings are not good on a horse. I am going to have to get some electrolytes and add them to the feed pan.

I live in Tucson, Arizona. Need I say more? ;):) It has been a bit nippy at 58 most mornings; 72-78 during the day. I can sit on my patio in the sun at 6-9 in the morning, in shorts, reading and keep a tan on my legs. Life is good.

Gads!! I shiver just reading your post!🥶

We got snow showers yesterday, but nothing stuck. It's very clear and very windy and cold now. 15 degrees F.

Time to batten down the hatches. The Meteorological Office issued a rare red warning, the most serious type, earlier today for wind in anticipation of the approaching storm Darragh. The Meteorological Office only issues red warnings when meteorologists believe that dangerous, potentially life threatening weather is expected, imminently.
It is in place from 03:00 to 11:00 GMT on Saturday, covering western and southern coastal regions.

just had the red alert siren on the phone,we expect 90 mph winds tonight, its pretty rough out there at moment,,so not expecting to get much sleep tonight.

Friends in Wales have had the warning buzzer on their smartphones. No sign of Storm Darrah yet. We're on the coast further north but only in the yellow zone. Dry and still but overcast at the moment.

The 90mph winds have caused some damage, but all the road and rail links remain open.
On the coast the waves were crashing in causing very high plumes of water. An idiot
had to be rescued as he stood taking pictures of the scene, with his phone.
