2025 - How's the Weather Where You Are?

It hasn't been above 32 for two days. It rained in other areas of Atlanta yesterday but the snow remained here. I couldn't find my old boots and it is slick out there so I have someone scraping off my car for me. I hope I can get out tomorrow but I'm not going to push it. They don't treat the roads and there are hills and valleys.
Am surprised anyone can drive in Atlanta. I lived in Birmingham for 7 years, when it froze it was a mess; slick/frozen and southern warm weather drivers are scary. Same way in southern Texas....slick roads there: no one knows how to avoid each other. Lived in Colorado for 9 years and even I stay the hell home.

33 no snow
Thank God for Global Warming
Hey, I am in Arizona. When they talk about global "warming"? I think: "Bring it ON!"
Nothing better than solar heat on older skin and bones!
Like a Florida (wet) sauna only better: "Finnish Sauna" (dry).

It’s 0 degrees and feels like -6.
My husband and I are both really sick. We’ve got colds where phelm buildup happens and coughing is very sore. I’m definitely not going outside. The dogs are not liking it but that’s too bad..

I lived in Homewood for a year during my college days, so I know what you mean. In 1980 my rent for a one bedroom apartment was $350. In the winter Alabama Power gouged me for heat, then in summer it was air conditioning. I moved to Eureka, California and got a bigger one bedroom apartment for $175 and never needed heat or air conditioning. :)

People don't realize how HILLY the suburbs and Birmingham ARE until the mist freezes on the roads! Yikes!

The place I lived in was on Beacon Crest Lane and the college I went to at the time was on Beacon Parkway West and I had to walk down this steep hill, cross Valley Avenue then up another hill just as steep to get there. That winter I about killed myself on those hills many times when they were iced over.

But the view from my living room window was amazing. (If you like city lights, anyway.)

Edit: I dropped part of that sentence in bold... So sorry.

Daughter went to Samford University; I got a nursing degree from Samford, too; was also in PhD program in public health/epidemiology at University of Alabama there in Birmingham. Never finished the PhD, baby #4 showed up unexpected!!

My first wife went to Auburn and we lived there for two years. (Well, I paid rent there for two years, but was rarely ever there.) When she graduated she got a job at the Birmingham Zoo, so we moved to Homewood. Not to long after that we split and I moved to Eureka.

I miss Auburn sometimes, and even though I'm not that big on football, I watch the Iron Bowl every year.

Here in Kent UK the sun is doing its best to up the temperature but a smattering of cloud looks like a spot of rain might dampen things. 🤷‍♂️
