I just heard this on the news and it makes me SiCK. :mad:



PENSACOLA, Florida -- A woman who weighs more than 300 pounds is facing a homicide charge after investigators say she killed a 9-year-old girl by sitting on her as punishment for "being out of control," reports say.Veronica Green Posey, 64, also is charged with cruelty toward a child, according to records with the Escambia County Jail. She was released from jail Monday after posting a $125,000 bond.​

It makes me sick too AC, I didn't hear about that one. Poor child being crushed and suffocated under all that weight, a bullet in the head would be more humane. Was it her child, someone she was babysitting for? The other adults did nothing to help? Talk about being out of control...incredible! :rolleyes: What is this world coming to?

The child was her cousin.

I feel her bail was way too low - for being charged with killing a child?! So now she's out of jail.

The other adults did nothing to stop what was going on....they should be charged with something.

What a disgrace. I'm thinking of a proper punishment, but I won't post it.

NO human being needs to weigh 325 lbs. She should never have allowed herself to get THAT heavy;

unless she's 8 ' tall. Otherwise there are NO arguments for it ! She should get a long prison sentence for her CRIME !!
 
325 lbs is disgusting. The mental image is chilling. That's the weight of 3, size-2, women. If and when she is locked up, I say put her on a 1,000 cal per day diet until she has a BMI of 16.

It's too bad this thread has been made into a place to bash the obese who have a difficult disease. There are large people on this forum and who read this forum, too.

The woman in question is not only unable to control herself at the dinner table, she is also a child abuser and a murderer. I don't have any sympathy for child abusers who kill children. If I posted what I really feel about her, I'd be banned. She has a disease all right, and it's called sadism, among other mental diseases.

I agree, Ruthanne. Seems that overweight people are the only "minority" that others feel free to bash.

It's a pity that a child has died but the outrage is about the woman's weight.

Maybe if you look again you'll see the article was an update.

Also, maybe you"ll also see I said I heard the story on the news - TODAY. Perhaps you should call WSYX ABC News and demand to know why they were talking about the story on their evening news TODAY.

AND, perhaps you will see that not all comments are about weight. The story is about the death of a child - guess you missed that part. For an adult to sit on a child as a means of discipline is abusive; to kill a child as the result of suffocation is horrific.

Your insinuation is ridiculous. If/when I see or hear a news item I'll post it, irrespective of your disapproval.

You have yet to post anything of substance or add to the discussion in any way.
 
Horrible story, but I think the fact that she killed a child should be the main focus, not how much she weighed. Thin people have also (accidentally) killed newborn babies by sleeping with them in the same bed, and rolling over on top of them.

Of course, this was much worse, not because she was obese, but because she did it on purpose, nothing accidental about it. She must be mentally ill.

Hardly a day goes by without a report of a parent killing their child. Over 500 youngsters are killed every year...most under 6 years old...and the vast majority are killed by their parents...usually the Mother. Raising a child is a difficult, and often stressful task....and many parents are not mentally equipped to handle such a challenge. Thousands more are either neglected or abused by people who are unworthy of parenthood.
 
I see that Veronica Posey has been indicted for felony murder, and 2 other adults have been charged because they did nothing to stop what was going on.

I'm glad she was indicted for killing that child, and the onlookers charged, guess it was a cousin....what a way to treat family. :(
 
With situations like this one can't help but wonder what other awful things that child had to endure. :(

If this woman goes to prison, I hope she is treated "appropriately".
