A flower a day ...

It is that season where one finds a stray rose or other flower blooming where the rest of the plant has gotten the message that now is not the time. I took this one just the other day. The English rose 'The Prince'.

That rose is gorgeous Mark! Beautiful shot! Actually the picture of the pink rose in the tree was taken more than 10 years ago. That tree has long been cut down. I loved that tree which was, for decades, right outside the master bedroom window. I was upset when they took it down, but it became necessary.

Change can be sad, necessary and poignant all at once, in fact it often is. I think I'll make my choice for today the same rose, David Austin's The Prince. This one is from 2009:

Some kind of AI creation or just one more alien looking plant from a corner to which I haven’t been?
I wondered also. I lean toward it being an exotic organic plant. I did a image search for others like it. I think it is a very unusual exotic plant called a "Giant Protea". Here are more like it :
