I agree that the foliage sets off the vivid flowers perfectly. I'd take the foliage even without such wonderful flowers, but better together.

Not sure what that is but it also has nice foliage, looks like it might be succulent. I'll go take a look at the walk thread.

Edited to say I took a look at that incredible scenery from the Blue Mountains but I didn't see anything that would give a clue to what this might be there.

I mentioned here A Nice Walk ( with photos )
@MarkD about a tree ~ that was found in the blue mountains in the 1990’s that was believed to be extinct
now you can buy trees breed from that ~ tree that was found way back then ….in most (specialist) plant nurseries
So goodness knows how many other spices of trees / flora fauna / reptiles/ birds is yet to be discovered

Here is a flower from down under @Kadee. I think I may have posted but didn't know the name. Since then I found the tag. Says here it is Chamelaucium uncinatum, commonly known as Geraldton waxflower or wax flower. A friend from whom I got several nice plants said she has grown it and said it was one of her favorite "leptos", short for Leptospermums. "Australian Tea Tree" around here

Unfortunately some squirrel or bird knocked off a couple of the few branches that had flower buds. This one's cultivar name if Purple Pride.

The flowers are identical to my Australian Tea Tree except for the color which is covered in white bloom through June most years.

This was my Australian Tea Tree in 2007.

Then in 2010.

Then in 2022, taken in June it is in bloom but you'd have to really get back or up to see all the white flowers.

Yes I know the Geraldton wax quite well @MarkD it grew in just about everyone's front garden where I grew up .
It came in a white as well and very hardy …nice in vase with other flowers 🌹

It will get quite” leggy“ woody if you don't trim it often but it’s pretty .

Do you recall me mentioning Western Australia is the wildflower capital of Australia…of course there’s lots of G.W growing ~ in a town and areas …called Geraldton in WA.

Been there in our travels and visited the areas stunning memorial to the people who were lost at sea during the war
when a ship called the Sydney was lost

We went walking yesterday at a town called Morisset NSW …. took a few photos but no one seems to plant flowers anymore

About the only colour I seen was Gazanias …pest flowers…they are classed as a noxious weed in south Australia
they are pretty for a bit of colour in roadsides
I will try to add photos latter ..only relying on my phone data at the moment….and photos won’t load

That first one looks like a bridge for nature to prevent it from being entirely divided by the road. You are amazing driving such distances. Those days are over for me. Very happy to see any photos that may ensue ..
