I must look up some info on this train which is part of a playground an hours drive from me
it’s got a walk up ramp for young kids and disabled to enter the train engine
That cheeky magpie kept eyeing me off just incase I had some spare food
This picture really does beg the question of how did they get it there. Anyway, a good effort. And it is great that the vessel is still around. Even if it is on dry land.Whyalla ….South Aust where we went over the weekend for dancing
This ship was made in Whyalla in 1942
now used as a tourist attraction

Yep,the magpie gives a hint it’s an Aussie ,and it was really harassing me for something to eatI don't know why but as soon as I saw that picture I knew somehow that it was Australia. Even before I read the text and spotted the magpie.Anyway, good one.
I can feel the bite of that air!Today was a 3 kilometre beach walk
It’s 3 degrees out and sunny. We hadn’t had a sunny day for over a week.

Today we walked 3 kilometre in the forest trail. The weather has been crazy today. I woke up to snow flurries. Then it stopped, the sun came out and on the way to our walk it started snowing again. Then the snow turned to hail pellets and back to snow again. By the time we got to our walk area the sun came out again, then halfway through our walk it turned to hail once more. Five minutes of hail and it was sunny again. It was an exciting weather day. Of course we have our winter tires on.

You’ve never seen snow? Oh my gawd. I’ve never met someone who has never seen snow. I’m shocked.I’ve never seen snow @PeppermintPatty , however we are going to Canbera ACT in June ~ July which is the capital city of Australia ….and Australia's largest inland city ( most of Australia’s capitol city’s are located on the coasts ) with the exception of Brisbane Queensland …. which is on a huge wide river …
Anyway enough of a geography lesson about Australia….
It snows in canbera …and areas close to it ….so we may take a day trip on snow tour while there for a month
In Late June / July 1 Day Snow Trip From Canberra - Ozia Tours
Thanks Mike. It’s a fairly long thread so reading the whole thing will take you a long while. We definitely live in a pretty area. The locals call it gods country. Canadas ocean playground.very beautiful pictures of the landscape around you @PeppermintPatty I'm going to read the whole conversation here, but what I have seen so far is Beautiful
I’ve been to every state and Territory in Australia. ..including ….Tasmania ( Canbera is a Territory as is Darwin, Northern Territory ) last spring we traveled through the area where they get snow ( the snowy mountains where seen Mount Kosciuszko is the tallest mountain peak in mainland Australia at 2,228 meters (7,310 feet) tall. ) but to late for snowYou’ve never seen snow? Oh my gawd. I’ve never met someone who has never seen snow. I’m shocked.I thought everyone has seen snow before. Wow! Don’t you travel outside your area.? I guess not. I sincerely hope you see snow in Canberra.
Well I love the snow. Most people don’t love the snow. You need snow tires. It’s dangerous without snow tires and then it takes consistant shovelling to manage it. Besides that it is fun to play in. Snow angels, snowmen and snowball fights make having snow fun. When we were kids we’d build snow forts in the backyard.I’ve been to every state and Territory in Australia. ..including ….Tasmania ( Canbera is a Territory as is Darwin, Northern Territory ) last spring we traveled through the area where they get snow ( the snowy mountains where seen Mount Kosciuszko is the tallest mountain peak in mainland Australia at 2,228 meters (7,310 feet) tall. ) but to late for snow
Cause we’d been in Queensland for most of the winter …QLD daytime temps are like a spring day ….
